    Big Apple Store

I have used this gas station regularly, even though it is in the next town over, partly because it…read moreusually has a fair price for gas, plus it doesn't make you give your debit card or bank information to get the best price. To tell the truth. We have rarely shopped in the convenience store itself. A funny thing happened the last time it was there. The price of gas was 2.89, about the lowest I have seen it for quite a while. I thought, cool. However, while I was pumping the gas the price went up to 3.01 per gallon, which was what I paid. It wasn't a huge deal, just about $1.50 more for the fill up, and I am sure there wasn't someone pointing their finger out at me saying, "I want him to pay more!" Still, it made me wonder why they changed the price in the busy early afternoon, and why I was going there out of habit when I have a grocery store in my town that also sells gas, so why don't I support a really local business? Still, I can't say anything against this store. It is just weird how I sometimes stop at a certain place more than others without really thinking about why.

the bradford general store is decent for its market ... which can also be categorized as something…read moreclose to the middle of nowhere (the next restaurant is 4 miles away, the nearest gas station 5.5 miles away, the next larger grocery 10 miles away). it's a small grocery/convenience store that also sells hot sandwiches, pizza, various fried things, beer and wine. it does not, however, sell alcohol on sundays, by town ordinance. the store also opens at 5:30am on monday through saturday, it's just not an option on yelp's hours. it does have a fairly broad selection of grocery and convenience items, from baking chocolate to eggs to worms to tobacco to soda, if at a high price due to the locale. some of the packaged items are old, though, by the time you've bought and opened them. they do have one of the old squirt-your-own slush puppy machines, which is pretty cool. the pizza is actually pretty good - the cheese they use is the best part, it's pretty tasty and plentiful. otherwise, the pizza is thin, but not crispy, with fat and soft outer crust that doesn't have nearly as much flavor as does the cheese. they do sell slices. as a picky vegetarian who just got served a pepperoni on her cheese pizza, though, i'm not sure that i'll order from them again. on the other hand, the made-to-order food is all pretty reasonably priced. other gripes include seemingly always having to wait in a line that moves as slow as death while some mother buys her week's groceries and baby items, or while some guy can't figure out what kind of cigarettes or lottery tickets he wants. there are two cash registers (one credit card machine, i believe), but i've only seen the second open once. even entering the store for only a few minutes always results in me smelling like the fryer and smoke (from the clientele). on the plus side, they paved the parking area earlier this summer. hooray. the parking situation is still an unmarked free-for-all, though, so pay attention to other cars and people when pulling in and out. in the end, you're probably not going to use this review to decide whether or not you're going to visit this establishment; if you're passing by, you'll stop if you need to without checking yelp, and if you live close enough, you'll go because it's close. but maybe, this time, you'll notice the slush puppy machine :)

This two-store chain reminds me of the AG stores that you find in small towns as an option to traveling far to a supermarket or the very expensive convenience store prices. The people working here are friendly and they carry a fair variety of items. They have a team of butchers and two display cases, so there is quite a focus on meats. The meat prices tend to be a bit higher than the supermarket, though not always, and I assume the quality is higher also. They usually have some marked-down meats I sometimes avail myself of also. They even have frozen chicken hearts, gizzards and livers, the last of which I sometimes buy for myself and our cats (my wife can't stand liver). They have excellent bakery items, store-made take home meals, a fair variety of produce, drinks, snacks - well, you get the idea. They have a loyalty program that, since I do the bulk of my shopping elsewhere, doesn't result in many five-dollar off rewards, but it also gives me access to their weekly coupons. The grocery items are usually a bit higher than the supermarkets, which have an increased volume of sales, but perfectly reasonable , nowhere near convenience store pricing. Plus you are supporting a local business. There are also gas pumps off to the side if you want to get that done while you are there.

Service is usually pretty good. All the ladies in there are really nice except for one she's kind of moody. But I suppose we all have our days I know I do. The atmosphere is good. It's clean. People are friendly. Basically, the biggest thing is the prices and the fact that the meat doesn't seem to be the same quality it used to be otherwise I would've given him a five stars review.

In Corinth there is not many choices for take-out, basically just two - none a good choice. With this issue with the Corinth store for some reason it seems that every time we order they get it wrong - not an exaggeration either. This time yet again they messed up - we ordered Lg steak & cheese w/ onion and sm steak bomb, cheese bread sticks plus other things. Of course as usual they got the sandwiches mixed and the bread sticks OVERLY well done. They also overcharged us for a lg steak bomb that was suppose to be a small. The worse thing about it too is that when we got the initial (wrong) sandwiches they looked so nice. The replacement sandwiches were then a 1/4 of the size and one looked like it was punched. I know in the great scheme of life there are more important things to complain about HOWEVER, as I stated before, this is every time and when you are trying to sit down as a family to eat dinner and half (or more) has to be redone and you have to go back out after waiting ANOTHER 20 minutes and then driving time, you can see the frustration. My husband is a disabled Veteran and I suffer from my own medical issues and we counted on this place as we order when I am not up to cooking. If Robinsons sees this, PLEASE fix it!
