My room was spotless, and the overall atmosphere made it easy to relax after a long day. The staff here is genuinely friendly, which you don't always find. The night auditor gave a great welcome--professional, kind, and helpful right from the start. What really impressed me, though, was the breakfast. Instead of the usual repetitive hotel options, they actually put effort into it. Fresh breakfast burritos, pork carnitas, and chorizo--everything was flavorful and clearly made with care. The breakfast attendant kept everything stocked, the area clean, and was consistently warm and attentive. It's also in a great location--quiet, but still convenient to everything you need. If you're staying in the area, this is definitely a solid choice. You can tell this team takes pride in what they do.

Nothing detrimental to its reputation. This one had a little less, but is still worth the stay. The breakfast is good and changes a bit daily. Every Wednesday there is a "social" around dinner time offering fruit and cheese and best of all- free wine and beer. The manager on site was professional and knowledgeable. Very friendly and went above and beyond when we simply asked for a good dinner recommendation nearby. She really took her time explaining and answering questions, in fact we had to end up breaking away as we were getting hungry. She even provided coupons for free goodies from our decided restaurant. Now the bad- The water temperature varies a bit, getting hotter and colder slightly without adjusting the knob. My last night here (I stayed a week) the hot water seemed to run out, my shower was room temperature at best. The gym is pretty pathetic. Very small, consisting of a couple treadmills and a bleak selection of free weights (ranging maybe from 2 to 8lbs max) scattered on the floor. I will say I do appreciate this brand implementing a peloton bike in each of their gyms pretty consistently. Also, I did find what appeared to be bloodstains on the desk and the lampshade on top of it. Pictures provided. Now, it could be nail polish or something similar. I'm praying it was. I'm deducting a single star for these reasons alone, I'd normally rate this way less because the blood stains are kind of a big deal. The rest of the stay was very pleasant, the staff were great. I couldn't bring myself to deduct more, you draw your own conclusions.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a kitchenette that included a fridge, microwave, sink, dishes, and glasses, plus a couch with ottoman and a comfortable king bed. One recommendation: try to get a room facing away from Highway 6 because those rooms are much quieter. Our room was on the backside of the hotel and had very little road noise. There were a few downsides during our stay. One of the two elevators was completely out of service the entire time, but there was never a sign posted on it, so guests kept pressing the button and waiting unnecessarily. It would be very helpful if management placed a maintenance sign on the elevator letting guests know it was temporarily closed. Also, the TV initially wasn't working and kept showing an error message, though maintenance later reset it after we notified the front desk. The blackout shades also didn't fully seal around the window, so a lot of sunlight came into the room during the day. Breakfast was solid, with eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, yogurt, fruit, juice, and coffee. The breakfast staff member was especially friendly and welcoming. Overall, if you're looking for a comfortable extended-stay style hotel in the Sugar Land/Stafford area with a kitchenette and spacious rooms, I'd recommend this Home2 Suites.

This is totally different from most hotels that we've stayed at, and I think it might be the wave of the future because they're basically trying to give you a sort of fancy apartment building to stay in instead of a hotel room, and it does feel like that. Sort of, see how the other half and the urban professionals are living these days, that sort of experience. Not everything about it is great and it's not exactly cheap, but it's different and we appreciate it.

I can only give Staybridge Suites Houston Stafford - Sugar Land three out of five stars (OK)…read morebecause our room was too humid and damp. Otherwise, I'd give this hotel four stars (good), maybe even five (great), because I thought it was a good value and the staff was terrific. We stayed only one night in room 222, on the second floor. The total cost was $118.84 which I prepaid online directly via Staybridge's (IHG Hotels & Resorts) website. I originally saw this hotel on Costco Travel's website as part of a package with a rental car. However, for our situation, it was better to book directly with Staybridge. For about $119, I was mostly happy with what we got. As soon as we entered our room, we were hit with humidity and dampness. I immediately cranked up the AC and left it running to try and help with the air. Lots of things felt damp and sticky. Most notably, the carpet, sofa, and our bed. Even the hard bathroom floor. Here's the crazy thing - when we returned home from our trip to Texas, the clothes in our suitcases had become moist and damp from the humidity in the room. Needless to say, we never felt comfortable in our room. If we had stayed more than one night, I probably would have asked to switch rooms. One other criticism (minor): One of the nightstand drawers wouldn't shut. It kept rolling back open. I'm pretty sure it needed repair. Humidity aside, my wife and I generally enjoyed the rest of our stay. Standard check-in and check-out times were 3pm and 12pm, respectively. I asked about a late check-out and the latest they could give me at the time was 1pm. That was nice, but it didn't work out for us timing-wise, so we checked out early. We had a one-king-bed studio with a kitchenette. The kitchenette was nice and well-equipped with a small fridge with icemaker, water pitcher, microwave, two-stove cooktop, toaster, small sink, coffeemaker, dishwasher, paper towels and kitchenware. Overall, the room was clean enough, including the bathroom. The Staybridge coffee didn't taste too good. The powdered creamer didn't help. Fortunately, there was decent-tasting coffee with "real" creamer options at the included breakfast buffet downstairs. Breakfast buffet hours were Monday-Friday, 6:30am-9:30am, and Saturday-Sunday, 7:30am-10:30am. I enjoyed it, probably a little too much. It was nothing extraordinary; in fact, super basic, but it still had a wide variety of food for a "complete breakfast." The only thing missing was bacon. Highlights included scrambled eggs, sausage links, potatoes, oatmeal, and yogurt parfaits. There was fresh fruit, a selection of individually-wrapped breads, bagels, and muffins, different kinds of name-brand cereals and milk, Minute Maid juices, and a Belgian waffle maker (popular) as well. There was also a fountain drink machine with ice. I preferred the ice from the fountain drink machine to the ice maker in our room. The eating areas were very homey, like living rooms. There wasn't really a "dining room." All of the staff we interacted with were fantastic, from Darrion at the front desk to the lady overseeing breakfast (really friendly). Everyone was nice and efficient.

The hotel staff is very friendly and the rooms aren't too bad at all either . They do have good amenities and modernized rooms. Somebody's rooms however are showing their age or poor craftsmanship with tile that's cracking. There is no Complimentary breakfast but you could pay for the breakfast and it seems that there's a Starbucks ( sort of) . They try to charge me $2 for a single banana. That's highway robbery right there for any hotel be charging that price! Not even the breakfast but the bar and pantry itself is overpriced. The bartender Johanna was very friendly and worth staying for a drink for The showers are great but the plumbing itself is a bit off because you can hear the piping in the walls the piping in the walls rattle every time you turn on the sink. I will say that the downstairs Lobby is very active at night. It's absolutely different compared to other hotels I've been to. Overall, this hotel is a hit or miss.

I guess my main problem with it is that there are better and fancier locations, especially up in Dallas, but that's not much of a complaint, and but we do still love it and we will be having more future stays here, no real issues and we will definitely stay here again in future. We sleep over at a hotel maybe once a week so there's plenty of opportunity to give them a try.

This is another hotel, YOU MUST view your rooms first because they like to offer you trash when you book off third party sites, after 2 rooms I just throw the peace sign up, I just can't sometimes. I had to leave very early one morning, like 4 day in the morning early. The Do Not Disturb sign was not in my room so I stopped by the front desk to ask Chico on the night shift if he would go place the NO HOUSEKEEPING on my door, there wasn't 1 in my room. He was knock out sleeping behind the wall, he was not too hidden half his body was out. I getit! I worked night shift back in my early twenties and use to sleep too. He pops up eyes red I startled him, I laughed he apologized. I made the request and asked if he would do that for me and he said yeah. I said hey "how many fingers do I have up" cause ole dude woke and looked like he was hung over sleep. I held up 2 fingers and he got the number correct. I called back later because I didn't trust him, I left valuables everywhere I DON'T TRUST HOUSEKEEPERS PERIOD...y'all/they have a bad reputation from experience ok ok? I didn't report him, again I getit. Second experience, I come after breakfast and asked Maria who was doing the breakfast dishes and cleaning in the kitchen if I could have an orange juice because I was diabetic. She said "Breakfast over". I was joking, I wanted to test her commitment to customer service, I commented it's not real o.j. And that I believed she dilutes it with water anyways! FACTS people. 3rd experience, leaving 4 day in the morning, Chico preparing breakfast. I asked if he would come and extend my day, Chico said "I can't, I'm preparing breakfast"! It took me a minute to register what he said, I looked at my phone it's 4 a.m. LITERALLY! I said, dude "What time is breakfast, 6? He said "Yeah". So, here we go, yep I sure did match energy. I reminded him how I let him make it the other night when I caught him sleep, WHY HE DENY WHAT Happened. I say dude, you seriously denying that morning? So I tell him, I'm checking out, he said leave the key, I said I needed my cash deposit back. Finally, he goes behind the counter and we continue the back and forth. To make this silly 1 star review complete, I didn't go where I was going. I checked out that morning. I DONT HAVE TO STAY NO WHERE IM NOT WANTED! THiS is HOUSTON, TEXAS! I cancelled my continued reservations AND SUKA forgot to take my deposit when I checked in hahaha!! When choosing a hotel, the main things I value are: Cleanliness (the most important), service, and location. The included breakfast is also a perk the kids and we enjoy. After staying a few times at much more expensive hotels that don't really offer anything different, we typically choose Holiday Inn Express and save the rest of the money for additional vacations instead of $9 orange juice and $4 packaged cereal with restaurant prices. Every Holiday Inn Express has one of two designs, based on the age of the property and the date of their last refresh. This was a newer properly and was very up to date. The rooms also have a functional refrigerator and microwave. We never really use either, but having a proper fridge is nice compared to some of the more expensive places that have those tiny fridges that don't get cold enough for drinks or food storage. The breakfast was the typical spread, but this location stood out a bit since they actually cook the sausage properly (compared to some other locations where they look steamed and lukewarm). They would get extra credit if there was some tapatio or cholula. One unexpected change was a lack of a coffee maker in the room. The newer Holiday Inn Express locations have fresh ground coffee machines in the lobby, that are better at keeping up with the demand than the old coffee dispensers that had to be swapped out. They are also available 24/7 in case you need an afternoon coffee. The front desk would apparently provide a coffee maker upon request, but I have always preferred the lobby coffee over K cups / stale coffee brewed in single use plastics, even though I feel like I sometimes need a coffee before heading to the lobby in the first place. The only slight downsides of the stay were the heated pool that did not seem heated. The pool area was heated, but the water itself was ice cold. Also it's really hard to keep up with housekeeping policies these days. Some/most do daily refreshes and make the beds, empty trash, and provide fresh towels. I didn't think to ask or request, but they did not come into the room during our two night stay. This wasn't a deal killer though, but when traveling with kids, it's always nice to come back to a refreshed room. Aside from that, we had a great stay overall. The front desk manager and other staff were very friendly, and they checked in via text during the stay to see if we needed anything. We'll definitely consider this hotel for future stays when we return to Houston. It is close enough to town without the downtown parking prices. The location also seemed a bit nicer than some of the other places we've stayed in downtown Houston, and the parking lot was well lit.

Later that night, my desk chair slid due to the still-wet floor, and I nearly fell again. I live with spinal injuries and require mobility accommodations. I spent the majority of my stay confined to bed, in pain, unable to work. When I followed up, I was questioned -- not supported. I was told, "Why didn't you say you fell?" and "Why didn't you ask to move?" despite being told by staff that this was the only ADA room available. The room door didn't lock properly, the bathroom door was difficult to close, and I didn't receive a remote until my last night. Almost falling is an injury -- it causes pain, trauma, and strain, especially for someone with a disability. The lack of urgency, empathy, and accountability here is deeply concerning. One night of rest turned into a liability I had to manage on my own. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone needing accessibility or basic safety.
