What am I going to do next? How can I earn a living and feel fulfilled? How do I create a career…read morepath that incorporates my beliefs and my natural talents? These questions have reappeared throughout my life.  Even as a child, I was excited and passionate about whatever it was that I was going to do in the distant future. The hurdle was figuring out what "it" was that I wanted to do! In the meantime, life went on, I earned a good income, worked hard and put off solving those nagging questions. Three weeks before my executive level position was eliminated, I decided it was time to find the answers. I researched executive coaches and decided upon Jody Michael Associates (JMA) based on reviews just like this one. I spoke with Jody who listened, assessed my situation and referred me to Nancy Scheel based out of the Atlanta Office.  Thank goodness I made the decision to work with Nancy. I am not sure I would have approached being out of work with such enthusiasm had it not been for our time together. Nancy is a one of kind, gifted and compassionate advisor. She is strong, sharp and unlike any person I have ever met.  Her job is unique and challenging.  After our time together, I still ponder over the research, education, training and passion it must have taken for her to be so great at what she does.  Her scientific approach to discovery is accompanied by a compassionate and genuine interest in those she coaches.  Nancy, over time and using the JMA methodology, compiled a comprehensive, measurable assessment of the real me. She helped to untangle my past, assess my strengths and plot forth a course of action. The JMA approach uses a fine-tuned, time-tested and verified method of career and self discovery. The JMA curriculum cannot be found in a book or achieved alone.  The secret to success is doing your homework and working with the highly skilled and professional career coaches at JMA.  The result of working with Nancy and JMA was a developing a set of tools unique to me that provide confidence, clarity and strategic next steps for achieving my career goals.  Our work together confirmed that I am an entrepreneur. In addition, we identified the type of team I want to work with and the values that my business must uphold to meet my expectations for success. Going forwarded, I know exactly what it is that I need to do to achieve my desired goals. Consequently, I also know what doesn't work for me and what I do not want to do. What a gift!  Thank you Nancy and Jody!

JOB HUNT CHALLENGING? IT'S PROBABLY NOT YOU-YOUR PRESENTATION LIKELY IS NOT ACCURATELY CONVEYING…read moreYOU. Which is what a group of us learned in a presentation by JUDI ADAMS, OWNER OF RIGHT CHANGES. Notes below on Judi's group presentation to a large job networking group. I found Judi to be the first career advisor to, rather than tell you to restructure your resume to their idea, instead constructively direct a pro-active self-representation. I highly recommend Judi for group presentations or individual sessions. Or refer to her book, Found A Job Yet? Or see blog site: RightChangesJobSearchCoach.blogspot.com. I incorporated what I learned in her presentation, and booked an hour in which she further refined ME. Rather than more hodgepodge of the same thing in every other great resume, there's now a reason to hire ME over the other equally qualified candidates. Most importantly, to the employer and those of us interviewing, is the clarity gained about how I/YOU can impact the organization. To that point, employers should hire her also. MY THANK YOU NOTE TO THE NETWORK ORGANIZERS: Judi's presentation yesterday was especially helpful and extremely timely. I wish I had been present for her last presentation. She took us right to our discomfort zone and made us, not told us to do later, exercise our noodles to identify crucially important information specific to us. I am about to begin incorporating my "findings" into my resume, cover letter and other materials, as well as following up with her offer to email and request a couple of templates. Her slide showing an employer holding a box in front of three job candidates segued to drive home the importance of the exercise. She asked us, "The box holds a job, why should this be given to you versus the other two people?" Of course our brains are saying because... And those answers were all the reasons she's just made us put onto paper, and made us learn to say concisely. Everyone had to be as relieved as me that they had been done! For those of you who were not in the presentation, that's just one of twelve major takeaways from Judi's presentation to us. Lastly, we were reminded that each of us deserves to be hired. A point you all kindly remind us weekly. She made us drill down to those reasons, then reminded us that we are worthy. As I begin incorporating her ideas, which she made our ideas, I feel very rejuvenated to my individuality translating into offerings to my impending job.
