There's plenty of options available by researching independent caregivers that way. Home Instead will be a waste of your time. Not because their caregivers are overall bad (who are called "care professionals"), nearly all of them that I've experienced have been lovely humans. It is because Home Instead takes negative advantage of those whom they hire. They hire a good amount of lovely individuals (caregivers) to make their company look good and to increase their profits. The caregivers receive, mostly, a little over ten hours of initial training, are expected to cough up money (and carve out time on their own) for their fingerprinting to be checked by the government, CPR certification, and other tasks deemed mandatory by Home Instead. The pay is laughable, barely above minimum wage and they claim it is "against company policy" to discuss one's pay with other employees (it is indeed LEGAL and just fine to discuss income matters with fellow employees). If that's not a red flag, I don't know what is. The hiring managers and trainers claim they're flexible with the caregivers and can match their unique capabilities with clients in their roster. What they ultimately desire are employees who do not seek "who/what/where/when/why/how" (at all). Not allowed. Only salute and do as you're told, never be curious, Heaven forbid anyone seek clarification and for Pete's sake never share your opinion. You'll be the recipient of pettiness that rivals immature teenagers who bully others due to lack of confidence and a large amount of power hungry desires. SEEK OTHER CAREGIVING ALTERNATIVES ELSEWHERE.

I have used Synergy since last fall when I sustained two broken ankles followed by a pulmonary embolism which brought my life to a a stand still. I had some heart issues in May and was in the Hospital most of May. My ability to drive is very limited as is my mobility. If it were not for Synergy I would be in a nursing home or other in-patient care facility rather than my home. I am really grateful that these nice folks are around to help me!
