Fish Window Cleaning

We had never had our windows professionally cleaned before but after the crew from Fish Window…read moreCleaning came in, the difference was like and night and day! They cleaned all the windows inside and out, including some 2nd story windows that were too high for us to reach, and they took off and cleaned all the screens too. They arrived on time, were professional, and the cost was fair and reasonable. We will definitely hire them again and on a regular basis.

What would have been a decent review and likely a service I would have used annually turned into a…read moreBUYER BEWARE situation based upon the way the owner decided to handle damage his crew caused. It should have been something easy to resolve and take ownership of, yet he chose not to. On July 10, 2 crew members arrived to clean my windows and doors inside and out. Based on my May 29 estimate, it stated the crew needs to remove and reinstall all screens in order to do the work, since these are replacement windows and there is no way to wash the exterior windows without the screens being in the way. The crew got to work, one inside and one outside. After the windows were washed, we walked around and spot checked the cleanliness of the windows, only having to point out a couple that needed attention. I had no idea I should have gone room to room to make sure my screens were intact and since it was the heat of the summer and the A/C was on continuously, I wasn't opening windows around that time. A few weeks after the cleaning, I discovered that the screen in one of my bedroom windows was damaged. I was not informed it had been damaged, but realize accidents can happen so I did not report the issue to Fish. We brought it to a local hardware store and paid to get it fixed. It wasn't until I went into my daughter's room shortly after that to air it out, that I noticed that her screen was installed upside down, which meant the lip that normally allows me to lift up the screen was up at the top of the window rather than the bottom. When my husband attempted to remove it to reverse it, the screen just fell apart in his hands because the corners were broken. Apparently they had jammed it back in anyway they could, to get it to stay in place and appear to the eye that it was intact. At this point, I told my husband, that we needed to check all of the screens throughout the house. Upon inspection, we found a third broken screen in our downstairs family room. On Aug. 18 I submitted a written email to the general manager, Anna, with photos of the damage. She responded, apologizing, telling me she would forward the info to the owner and asked me to verify my address, which I did. Hearing nothing further and receiving no restitution, I sent one last email, Oct. 6, reminding them I had not been compensated and I would wait one more week for my reimbursement before writing a review that would reflect this situation. No response. Oh, and before the owner decides to play dumb and say he can't find me in the system, like I see on several other reviews, I've attached a photo of my receipt to prove I was a customer of Fish Window Cleaning of Wallingford, CT. He had no problem collecting over $500 from me, but couldn't do what was right and reimburse me the approx $75 for the 3 screens the crew destroyed either when removing or reinstalling them and not owning up to the fact that they damaged them. So glad I tipped too.
