It had taken me months to save for my trip to Thailand and I wanted this trip to be extra special! Allison, from Sodha Travel was thoughtful, timely and had a follow-through quality that is rarely seen these days. After an initial meeting in which Allison asked us questions about our likes, dislikes, past travels and personality traits we decided to hand over the planning aspect of our Thailand vacation to Sodha Travel so that we could focus on more important things; such as finding the perfect swim suit and rock star sunglasses! Allison drafted a fantastic 12 night itinerary with multiple in-country flights. 3 nights in an all-inclusive luxury tent resort in Khao Sok National Park! A 1/2 day bicycle ride through Phuket and a visit to Phuket's Gibbon Rehabilitation Center! Kayaking inside Phang Nga Hong through tunnels and lagoons! Private guided temple tours in Chiang Mai. Private tours! Did I mention PRIVATE TOURS???? Allison didn't simply add us to a 50 person travel bus tour. She found us a private guide! Each hotel Allison selected was clearly chosen using the information she gleaned from our initial meeting. She was patient with my questions and politely and kindly made any changes I requested. Although, I must admit, there were very few changes due to Allison's impeccable skills and travel planning! I highly recommend Sodha Travel. The peace of mind you will experience after you hand over the planning details of your trip to Sodha Travel will be worth every penny you spend as you invest in your dream vacation. Heidi

My family has been using Colonial Travel for our trips for over 20 years…read more They like the entire staff, but I adore Louise and wouldn't use anyone else. In fact, I've referred friends and they think she's a doll too. Not only is she terrible sweet, but she's world traveled and can tell you anything about anywhere. When I wanted to go to Israel, she reassured me that it's be a trip of a lifetime and that I would be safe on a tour. Having just returned from there herself, she explained how tight security is and that they only take you to neutral zones (ie where Muslims, Christians and Jewish people all can live harmoniously). Turns out she was right on the money ans was the best trip I have ever taken. She also planned my 1st Europe tour and my Croatia, Thailand and Europe trips; from flights to hotel to ground tours. Louise is a wealth of information and will give you detailed information about what you must see, where you must go and what you must not do (in order not to offend varying cultures). She looks extensively at flight prices and will get you rates comparable to online sites. She will also send you information in the mail, to go over before you start to plan your trip. The location is near my parents home so they can just swing by to talk to her personally, but since I do not live in the area, I can shoot her an email about somewhere I am interested in traveling to and she will print off info from the web (on points of interest) and mail it to me. I can't express enough how important customer service is when it comes to planning a trip and she walks you through every step of the way. You can call any time during office hours and she will provide answers; from passport issuing to general questions about local customs in foreign countries and everything in between.

At that time Stephan just saved all our info in case we were able to come later (so happy that we were). He didn't charge us anything at that time even though I'm sure he'd done work arranging things. Stephan organized our trip, picking fantastic wineries for us to go to based on our preferences (we only picked one of the 8 and it was the only one we didn't buy wine at...should have let him pick them all!) and two great lunch spots. Ian drove us around in a luxe black sedan. Both were fantastic to work with and very responsive. We had to change hotels at the last minute (days before) due to an outbreak closing the first hotel and they didn't miss a beat working around that. Ian gave us great suggestions for places to eat dinner and things to do on our day off. He also drove us to a convenient store at the end of the day when one of us needed some medicine, and helped us load all the wine into the car and then carry it into the hotel. He was COVID safe and wore a mask the entire time even though all three of us were vaccinated (and bonus points that he was vaccinated). Side note that everyone we interacted with at wineries were also vaccinated if people are looking for a safe COVID experience. 10/10 would use them again.
