These people sold me a bunch of currency for an out-of-Berlin trip a few days ago, and upon arriving at my destination, I was told that some of the currency that I had bought from them was forged. Upon my return to Berlin, I took the forged currency back to the exchange in Alexanderplatz, with my receipt so that I could get a refund. This is standard practice in most countries. But at Euro Change, the manager flatly refused to give me my money back, and basically accused me of lying about the purchase. Not only that, but she refused to question the staff member who had sold me the money, even though I was able to point him out, and she showed less than zero interest in investigating my complaint. At one point she even offered to destroy the forged money instead of reporting it to the police, which I assume is not the proper way to handle such matters. After all that, she finally called the cops and had them handle my complaint instead of taking action herself. Thanks to her, a simple transaction became a nightmarish, Kafka-esque experience that ruined an otherwise pleasant afternoon. Avoid this shop!!! And if you do have to buy currency there, bring your own forgery detection kit and your passport! You may need it for the cops. Apparently, that's the only defense against bad service at Euro Change. Needless to say I will never, EVER be using their service again.
