Each therapist would follow my doctor's protocol by stretching, massaging, rotating, moving, and stimulating my shoulder while recommending exercises that were appropriate for each phase of my recovery. Melissa was whom I worked with first, and she is excellent. She has a soft touch, works slowly and encourages small victories with each visit. She doesn't push you very hard in the exercises. Ratika is the opposite, much more forceful with working your muscles to exertion and will grab and prod to make sure you're doing the exercises perfectly. Personally, I really liked Ratika's stronger hands on approach, but I doubt most patients would prefer this. Much better suited for athletes who aren't afraid to work hard. Donna is right in the middle. I thoroughly appreciated each of the three, as they all were ready and willing to answer any questions or concerns I had. The secretary is rather obnoxious, but it's a small price to pay for knowledgeable therapists. As far as the facilities, they're nothing fancy or anything to write home about, but they have everything you need to get the job done. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

I must say that during this experience with Overlook my mom was treated with the highest level of professionalism, respect, dignity, and compassion. From the ER to the standard in patient rooms to the CCU she was fortunate to have been treated by amazing individuals including Doctors, nurses, aides, meal providers, maintenance, etc. I do have to reference several professionals that had a major impact during my mom's stays which were: Dr Jessie Wilt, one of the best professionals that i ever met in my life, with unlimited knowledge, respect, compassion and really just an amazing human being who truly cares! Nurses; Sidneia, Olivia CCU, Justin CCU, Megan CCU, Rae Mauro, Emily C., Sheryl, Jamell Quiles, Erika and Faith. To these individuals especially and to the entire staff and organization of the Hospital I would like to thank them for everything that they did to make my mom's last days the most comforting possible! THANK YOU!!! Victor Cunha

My counter to Kevin L. I disagree with every point he made!…read more On two occasions, I was a resident at Homestead. The first visit was after I survived (barely) a AAA ruptured Aneurism. I found the staff to be knowledgeable, dedicated, friendly and caring! I was there for 100 days, coming from Morristown Hospital and Kindred Hospital. I was admitted as a basket case, just 90 days after a life threatening event. The nursing staff: RN's CNAs, Aides, support staff, all took care of me! They were ALL friendly and helpful! They were knowledgeable & efficient. I liked the food! I liked the rooms! The Therapist worked with me! I had Occupational, Speech & Physical therapy! I entered Homestead as a basket case and was discharged to my home, 100 days later, in my wheelchair! My doctors could not believe my progress. They said it was because I worked so hard to get better BUT I say it was because I had such good help from everyone at Homestead! 'Good Vibes' promote healing! Two years later, I developed an abdominal hernia! My belly expanded to a 65 inch waist. I looked horrendous! My doctors performed another life saving operation to close up my abs with 170 staples and I returned to Homestead for a second Rehab! Again the excellent therapy and the care and concern of the nursing staff had me ready to go home after only 30 days. I came in by ambulance and walked out the front door with just a cane! I hope I will never need the services of Homestead Rehab again! But if I do, I know I will received the best treatment available. So, Kevin L., I'm not sure how long you "worked" at Homestead, but you could not have given it a chance! Maybe, just maybe, you were never destined to work in hospital services.

Review of The Breast Center:…read more I recommend The Breast Center at Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center without hesitation. Screenings and exams can be scary for a patient (I know they are for me). This morning, I went in for my annual exams. From intake to the examinations themselves, it was a smooth sailing because of all professionals who worked there. The women at registration were friendly, welcoming, and positive. Again, I'm nervous walking in, but they create an environment where that nervous energy starts to dissipate. That's important. The waiting room also has this relaxing vibe with its decor and that contributes, too. The medical technicians were kind, patient, and knowledgeable. At medical appointments, when asked "Do you have any questions?" I'm a patient who ALWAYS has questions. The people at The Breast Center answer in a caring way and make sure that you understand and feel comfortable with the responses. Also, one HUGE plus is that The Breast Center is open on Sundays. For me, I have trouble taking off work Monday to Friday, so this is a big plus and helps me with keeping on top of my doctor visits. I don't have an excuse to put it off. So, highly recommended!
