Established in 1986.

Excel was founded 31 years ago by Melissa Moody after 15 years of modeling and acting.Excel's first class of ten produced one of Arkansas' first successful international models who went on to model for prestigious names like Vogue, Christian Dior, and Elle. Excel was licensed in 1987 and became a member of the International Modeling and Talent Association. In 1989 Excel opened its Academy for Film and Television Acting and began teaching actors that have since appeared in their own network series, in national commercials and feature films. Excel travels to new York, Los Angeles and Paris annually to showcase their graduates internationally. Excel is not only known for placing talent in every major market worldwide but also for their reputation of teaching excellence and life changing personal and professional development skills and enjoys teaching second and even third generations.

Hi! I'm Melissa, the founding director and main instructor of Excel. I am the happy mother of four children and six grandchildren. My children, like you, are talented and unique. I have a Grammy award winning songwriter, an international award winning photographer, a skilled custom cabinet maker, a screenwriter and a minister. I am a writer, photographer, artist, mentor, teacher and a minister. I am grateful to have been awarded the International Educational Excellence Award four times in New York, the International Training Center of the Year three times in LA and Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Modeling and Talent Association. Most of all I am thrilled that my students have nominated me six times for the Who's Who of America's Teachers. I have a wonderful, fulfilling career with beautiful, talented,creative people like you who walk in my door with BIG dreams! I have the awesome privilege to be your mentor and help shape your dreams.
