The pricing: We did axe throwing for the option of 1.5hrs (which was about $33 per person) and go karting. In my opinion, they should really have the option of purchasing one race, which is approximately nine laps. However, this isn't the case. They apparently only do packaged races. The option we selected was three races, which was about $54 per person. Supposedly, if you don't use all your races in one visit, you will still have access to the remaining races whenever (no time limit) you go back (I will have to confirm this at a later date). For the go karting, you are required to purchase their annual speedway license which was approximately $8. The activities: Axe throwing was a great time. Our demonstrator/trainer as very interactive and got straight to the point, which we appreciated. He detailed the safety requirements, gave recommendations for how to throw the axe, and gave a handful of games for us to play while axe throwing. The go karting was such a good time. Got to drive like my inner speedy, while feeling safe enough to do it. I would definitely recommend this for an interactive date night, sibling outing, coworker bonding session... Essentially, any styled outing that desires a good time with some friendly competition. I will definitely be back to collect my remaining two races.

Each (group) race is a total of 12 laps. Membership (yearly) & injury waiver is required for each driver. The system tracks your lap speeds and gives a data sheet via email to show placing. One free race on your Birthday. Teen & I had a great time. It was pricey, but worth it. They also have video arcade & ample seating with a snack stand. Great for group birthday parties. Staff was nice and helpful, equipment (helmets) are provided but there were no safety briefings.

This race has embedded many great memories in my mind and heart and is so much fun in all regards. You don't need to dress up but it is fun to get a little snazzy and mingle with some of the elites from NoVa, Potomac, Bethesda and Poolesville. I can't say enough about this event or the people you encounter during this race. It's in a class all of its own. It's fun and exciting. I highly recommend you go to it next year if you have never been. *Btw - Take a blanket, some snacks and some wine to maximize your experience. Maybe I'll see you there :D

I loved the scenic drive in (if you're coming from DC, it's via the George Washington Memorial Parkway). I was concerned that it might be a little muddy with the incessant rain over the past week, but the plush grass absorbed most of it by the time we got there. The program said that the races start at 12 pm, but the races actually started at 1 pm. In addition to the outer course where the race actually occurs, there is a small inner course where you can admire the horses shortly before they race. Finally, don't miss the miniature horses at the end (Hello, Lil' Sebastian)! Few (mandatory) tips: - Bring a picnic basket and drinks! The only food vendors at the races were BBQ, Ben & Jerry's, and a lemonade stand. - Bring lawn chairs to lounge around in. - Bring a jacket (or a tent)! The open field means that nothing will block the wind if it's a windy day, and there aren't any covered areas nearby. We showed up with none of these things because the website seemed to only "recommend" tailgating, and we assumed that we could purchase from a variety of food and drinks vendors. But this five-star review is dedicated to David, who was the owner of the first tent we approached (confusedly thinking that he was selling drinks). David graciously welcomed us to join his party and treated us like old friends. We spent a fantastic afternoon there, watching the races, mingling with wonderful company, and partaking in their great food and drinks!

Quality Staff, Quality Service!…read more We moved to the Sterling, VA area this past June and since the move, my daughter Celeste has been aching to get another motorcycle. She did her research and was blessed to find MG MotorSports less than 15 minutes for our new home. The crazy thing about her motorcycle journey is that the first time we had ever been in the Sterling area was when we attended our first ever "Finish The Race" gathering at Calvary Temple. At the time we never envisioned living here now. MG Motorsports exemplifies the true sense of community with just how they show their sense of professionalism with their customers. From beginning to end My daughter and I were impressed by the attention to detail in helping my daughter feel confident in her selection. Both Zach and Greg made themselves available for any and all questions and final delivery scheduling. I knew the hand shakes were true and a lasting relationship in this communities motorcycle world was there for her going forward. I strongly recommend to anyone interested in a quality motorcycle purchase to take yourselves to MG MotorSports

Mike, his wife and the entire team at MGMotorsports are fantastic!…read more I purchased a 2023KLR650S in July and the price was the best I could find anywhere in the country. Part of the reason I say this is because I know they couldn't have made a lot of money on this sale. Yet every single interaction was a pleasant surprise! When I called about the bike Mike answered all my questions in a straight forward manner. He quickly told me the out the door price, the history and condition of the KLR (even sent me a video of it) reconfirmed that it was ABS, the crash bars and racks were included, they had copies of the service records, only had 780 miles on it. He was patient during the process of me wiring MGMOTORSPORTS the payment. His communication was excellent. He also offered reasonable shipping from VA to OK or agreed to store it a couple weeks until I could pick it up. When it came time to pick it up Mike personally met me at a subway station and drove me to the shop in Sterling. The motorcycle was ready to go and his wife was great with all the paperwork ready. I watched and listened as they dealt with other customers and they were sincerely pleasant with everyone. When it was time to leave, Mike and an employee checked the fluids, tire pressure, ect, one last time in front of me. We shook hands, he had an employee lead me in a company truck out Sterling to the main road headed west so I wouldn't get lost. Every couple of days as I leisurely rode back home to Oklahoma Mike would text me to make sure everything was good and askif I had any questions. I know this long winded, but for once something that seemed too good to be true, WAS TRUE@ My email is rsnowder@gmail.com and I will gladly answer any questions about my experience with MGMOTORSPORTS! I went to Celebrate Fairfax for the 1st on 6/9/17, 6/10/17 and 6/11/17…read more It is apparent that Celebrate Fairfax has grown over the past couple of years from a traditional carnival. You take the shuttle (because there is not enough parking at the festival for everyone who attends) from either Fair Oaks Mall or a nearby business park and walk right past the traditional carnival rides. I remember as a child. After the carnival rides you past vendors selling everything from coffee to Botox (agree with other Yelpers Celebrate Fairfax is not focused on crafts). After you past the vendors you are welcomed by the smells of food from everything from chicken to popcorn. After you past the food vendors, you arrive at the stage (concerts are offered on Friday and Saturday night). I was primarily interested in attending Celebrate Fairfax to see Bush (which turned out to be one of the best concerts I have experienced from the sounds to crowd) and when I looked at the ticket price I said "hey a 3 day ticket doesn't cost that much more". The concert space has chairs for anyone who wants to sit and if the band turns out to be super popular (and no chairs are left) you can either sit on the very small lawn space or stand. At the end of each concert there is a great fireworks displayed. I was impressed by the half hour show (stayed for the entire display on Saturday night). The fireworks displayed can be seen at almost every part of the festival (e.g. at the concert space or near the rides). The last day of Celebrate Fairfax the organizers tried something different this year and hosted a Brewfest. It was a really nice mixture of cider and beer. I heard from someone who attended the previous year that the organizers focused more on wine than beer. I think. Beer is better bet because I think you will attract more people because beer (in my opinion) offers more variety. I loved the concept of unlimited pours (and no tickets for tastes). If I had one compliant about the Brewfest portion it would be to have more sun umbrellas and dump buckets available. I know. It can be hard to predict the weather but Celebrate Fairfax happens every year in June and therefore rain or shine you can expect it to be hot. On that note, you can bring in Camel Backpacks into the festival. It is very helpful to have a large source of water available since all of Celebrate Fairfax (except for the restrooms and train display in the Government Center) is outside. In a nutshell, I am super psyched to live in Northern VA so I can attend Celebrate Fairfax (fingers crossed they have another great band(s) next year).
