I would personally not recommend this service. I signed up for the Comprehensive Support program,…read moreand have been very unhappy with it. At $189/week (over $2000 for 3 months of "full support"), it is not worth the money. There are so many free resources online today like My Fitness Pal, Pinterest, free recipes on Canadian Living, it is far too expensive to receive recipes and meal plans from a "professional" that you can get online for free with a bit of research. Also, I found my in-person sessions to be very unstructured, I was not held accountable for keeping a food diary, etc. I've gotten a lot farther doing meal plans on my own, trying new recipes, and keeping a free food diary with My Fitness Pal (awesome iPhone app - just scan a barcode and it brings up the nutritional info). The nutritionist I was paired with was not compassionate or helpful when I expressed frustration and felt overwhelmed with having photocopied recipes shoved at me. At the time, I worked long hours, and it wasn't realistic to come home at 8 or 9pm and cook dinner for myself. It wasn't a matter of WHAT to cook, it was WHEN to cook it. She didn't seem to understand why this would have been difficult, since I was single and had no children at the time. Her comment was along the lines of "Do you think I want to come home and cook after picking up my kids, taking them to lessons, etc. No, but I do because I have to." She was able to provide a lot of recipes, but we never talked about a meal prep strategy or my relationship with food. In the end, it was not a fit for me.

With regards to my Life Mark review, Panther Sports Medicine is where I went after I left Life…read moreMark. It was so refreshing to visit a physiotherapist who actually adjusted the routine to each individual person. Panther Sports Medicine has many locations across the city, but we were lucky enough to attend the clinic with the owner of it all, Scott. He was such a pleasure to be around too. He would talk to me while poking and prodding, and make jokes to keep me comfortable. I could tell that he really knew what he was doing. Perhaps it was because of all the letters and titles after his name! I was glad that after leaving the friendly environment of Life Mark, Panther showed me the same enthusiasm whenever I visited. The girls at the front desk were always happy to see me and remembered me by name, first and last. They actually let me take home and keep a book I was reading while having physio. I completed my physio before I could finish the book, and they said no one else had touched the book in years, so I could have it. It was fantastic. What cuties! The quality of service at Panther was exceptional. They first did an initial assessment to see where my problems areas were and went from there. I still got the heating pad (and a little nap) every time I went in, but they did so much more to my body. I had acupuncture and intramuscular stimulation, as well as full use of an exceptionally equipped gym. Panther provided regular reports to my insurance company, so they could keep their files up-to-date on my recovery as well. Not only was the treatment phenomenal, but so were the people! Panther Sports Medicine should be a top choice for physical analysis and treatment. The physiotherapists really know what they're doing, and prove that to you when they help you make a quick and full recovery.

This review is based completely on my interactions with my particular therapist - Darcy. I drive…read more30 minutes out of my way because the care he provides is so fantastic. If he should move to another clinic, I would immediately drive to that clinic for treatment. I have been going to Darcy for the last 5 years. I sustained a serious injury in a motor vehicle accident and though I have chronic pain from it, regular physio helps keep me moving and allows me to do things that I otherwise would have a hard time doing - specifically my love of running LONG distances. When I told Darcy that I wanted to run a marathon, he kept me going and provided me with feedback on what types of training would be best for my body. He's excellent with all types of patients and is realistic about what will work best given your particular situation. He IS a Canucks fan though and he does give me a hard time about the Flames. Sometimes I let him get away with the trash talk, let's be honest, the Flames make it hard to defend them on occasion. I should also mention that the rest of the staff are excellent as well. The other individuals that assist throughout the course of my treatment are efficient and pleasant. 17/30
