I moved to Asheville with my family this summer and noticed a dead tree in our backyard. The team showed up and provided what seemed to be a fair estimate and said they would return the next morning to plan removal and get the project completed. They did show back up and had a look at the tree with a few more people, after which they called a subcontractor to help. They told me that they needed to go and get some supplies, then would return to remove the tree. Four hours later they hadn't yet returned, so I called the gentleman that I'd been speaking with. He didn't answer, so I left a message. Six hours later they hadn't shown and my call hadn't been returned, so I left another message. Eight hours later they still hadn't shown, so again I called, again my call was ignored, and again I left a message. The next morning still no response to my calls or replies to my messages. I am pretty furious, as the team at R&J Grading took on the job then just disappeared without ever contacting me to let me know what was going on. I suspect that the job was too big for them, which I would have accepted if they had just let me know. Instead, they're approach was to avoid me, which I find completely unprofessional and juvenile. As a result of this lack of communication, the window to find another more competent company to remove the tree has closed. Now we just have to cross our fingers, sleep in the basement, and hope that the tree doesn't fall over onto our house. I will never hire this company again and would recommend that anyone considering their services take this infantile behavior under advisement. I've never had an experience with any business that was as negligent as the one I've just had with R&J Grading.
