Overnight is like a college dorm...was loud with a snoring roommate. Food is good...lots of veggies and fruit...group sessions are mostly a waste of time...counselors doing their dated power point, bulleted, timeworn and of no insight, speaking direct from their slides. As a college professor, I've seldom seen worse. Other than time away from addiction (closest bar is two miles away), it offers little but a high cost. I hope you can find a better option.

I was also blocked into a room by another therapist with an arm against a door frame, again a trigger, which caused me to flee when I was first waiting calmly, because I knew I wasn't a danger to myself. As was later proved. My last appointment came three days after I had a crisis. I was cleared by both Madelyn (likely to get me into office three days later to call 911, to not call during "active" emergency was something I couldn't understand. I did everything I could to be honest - used skills, my safety plan, and crisis phone numbers (despite her report, this part was not true, which is the problem with not inquiring further). I don't blame her, not every provider is equipped to understand these intersectional complexities. Overall, I just had higher hopes for a therapist and place "specializing" in PTSD. Carmella at front desk was compassionate and a friendly face.

Our first session, the front door was locked and we waited outside in the cold a long time before another business owner let us in to the building. Matthew was unable to even give us an estimate of how much the sessions would cost through our insurance until after we had completed 3 sessions and missed our FSA deadlines, and he has no way of notifying you of appointments. No call, no email, no text reminder, not even a paper card. In my experience it felt like he was happy saying we had something on the books and charging for it without any notification and that was super disappointing. He also did not return my call about this issue. I would warn folks to steer clear of this "practice."
