Fantastic service, fantastic staff. I had a full left knee replacement and then had to go back and have an MUA on it. I had Matt and Scott both work on my knee, I was very impressed by the knowledge they both knew and patients they had for me. They took their time with me when I was in so much pain and didn't think I would ever be OK again. I have full range of motion with my knee and can do things again, I never thought I was going to be able to do. Now it is time to do the right knee, and I cannot wait to get into therapy. If you need physical therapy I highly recommend evolve physical therapy. If 10 stars were an option they definitely would have qualified Campbell and Brittany were excellent also with the scheduling and billing of my appointments . I have been in therapy here for over a year now seeing Scott. I came in with major shoulder pain and doctors couldn't figure it out. Scott kept working with me and knew what was wrong immediately. I kept seeing him up until surgery and after recovering from surgery. The team is very great and welcoming. I can't say enough great things about Evolve Physical therapy therapists and staff!! I was referred to Evolve by my physician who recommended Matt and Matt because of their expertise in dealing with neck/cervical spine physical therapy. I was extremely impressed with the knowledge and expert care I received at Evolve! I have recommended both Matt's to many of my friends to address a variety of pain, postural strength training and post surgery physical therapy needs. Matt W. provide me physical therapy exercises that were constantly tailored and customized to meet my therapy goals and work within my life/schedule. They use an app/online program through your email that links to videos of your specific workout that is updated after every appt based on your progress and feedback. The online individualized videos provide great visual cues and reminders on your homework and is super easy to follow and use. Evolve worked hard to not just address my active pain symptoms and building strength to correct those but took it to the next level of looking holistically at all aspects of my daily life to find all components that we needed to address in order to prevent future re-occurrences. Matt W. helped me to really analyze my home and work environments for contributing factors and then problem solved realistic solutions. Incredibly smart therapists. I had the pleasure of working with Matt Weissbach, and throughout treatment he challenged me, encouraged me, carried on great conversation to keep my mind of the strain of some of the hard work, and taught me as much as he treated me. have worked with the therapists at Evolve now for a number of different injuries and each experience has been wonderful...with recovery being achieved. I found Evolve over the summer when I suddenly started experiencing vertigo. I'd self-diagnosed as having BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo). I wasn't sure what was going on but the symptoms I found online seemed to align with what I was experiencing. I searched Yelp for BPPV treatment and there weren't many results, but Evolve appeared and had one very high review that specifically mentioned BPPV, so I reached out to them from their website. This was a Saturday, outside of their business hours. At best I was hoping for a response Monday morning but I got a response from Matt Whitaker almost immediately. Matt offered to meet me right away. He did some tests before beginning treatment for BPPV to make sure I didn't have any signs of neck injury. He was very reassuring, explained he was confident he'd be able to treat this and I'd be back to normal soon. I'd never experienced anything like this before so his reassurance was very welcomed. After the first treatment I was able to walk out feeling better, but it'd be another 4-5 treatments before it was completely gone. Each time the symptoms would return, I'd reach out to Matt and he'd fit me in right away. It was a 35 minute drive for me to Evolve, but honestly I'd have driven much farther. Once the vertigo was treated, I continued to see Matt for some treatment of some chronic neck pain. I had been working from home daily due to COVID and had a poor ergonomic setup. He had me take video of my set up and helped choose some items that would improve my home work station. I'm also a pool (billiards) player, and had some pain and tightness in my neck, upper back, shoulder area from years of pool playing. He provided treatment, stretches and exercises to help relieve the pain. I continued to see Matt once or twice a week for about a month. I left feeling a million times better, and the resources he provided (stretches and exercises for home) were a life saver. Once he was confident that I had the tools to keep my pain in check on my own, he sent me on my way. I'm so glad to say I haven't had any reoccurrence of the vertigo, as it's truly a miserable experience to say the least, but I'm so grateful to know that if it does come back, Matt will take care of me. read more

I've been dealing with neck and shoulder issues for over 4 years, and have seen so many different physical therapists, and Matt at Evolve is one of the best to ever do it. He is so well-versed in treatments and techniques. Very knowledgeable. But most importantly, he makes therapy fun. Matt, and the entire staff, are so engaging and kind. I can't say enough wonderful things about Evolve Physical Therapy! I have been a runner all my life - it's my happy place - so when I experienced pain in both of my ankles that was so severe that I couldn't run anymore, I was extremely depressed and frustrated and had no idea what to do. A friend recommended Matt Whitaker at Evolve Physical Therapy; she told me he had "saved her life" when she was experiencing knee pain and I have to tell you, I was skeptical of physical therapy at first - but Matt saved me too! Matt and all of the staff at Evolve are very friendly and welcoming, the place is very clean and professionally run and everyone there truly cares about your wellness. Matt knew exactly what was wrong with me and what strength training and physical therapy exercises I needed to do to fix the tightness in my calves and lower back and improve my hip and core strength which together were contributing to the pain in my ankles. Matt explained everything in a way that was super easy to understand - not only what exercises to do but how different parts of my body are connected, how that impacts my running form and paces, and how and why the exercises help. He also gave me advice on how to improve my running technique! In just a matter of weeks, I went from not being able to run at all to now I'm running, hiking, and working out in some way nearly every day! I can honestly say I am now in the best shape of my life and I owe it to Matt. I would give him 100 stars if I could, he is seriously the BEST. I feel like i've tried every physical therapist in the PDX area before landing at Evolve PT and working with Matt Whitaker. I felt compelled to write a review as I'm *FINALLY* making some progress with my chronic issue! It seemed like I was on an endless loop of recommended PDX PT's who would ultimately stray to the same protocol of endless strengthening exercises, clamshells, lunges, etc which never resolved my issue with my diminished glute / lower back / hip function probably from 20+ years of Triathlon and running marathons. Matt gave a very thorough review of my current issues including an assessment of how my problem area was functioning. This resulted in a diagnosis and treatment plan that was counter to what I was used to at this point (I was willing to try anything!). In a nutshell (I forget all the medical terms), while strength was important, a lot of my underlying issues were due to a very serious lack of flexibility. Matt attacked this area hard and i immediately began noticing improving results. Evolve has a different protocol and you will get a lot of face time with your PT. Matt Whitaker is a very "hands-on" PT which involved a ton of manual manipulation / work for my particular issues which was different from the, often-times, PT work done at arms-length via prescribed strengthening exercises via clamshells, leg / hip lifts, lunges, etc. While i still did those, his manual work was definitely the difference. If you have a tough case or are close to this office, definitely check them out! Finally, just want to note for any endurance athletes out there that Matt definitely "gets it" as he is an avid cyclist / runner with a couple Ironman Triathlons under his belt. Personable, knowledgeable and honest about his expectations and treatment. I was referred to Matt Whittaker at Evole physical therapy from a trainer at the local YMCA. I was having issues with my neck. My range of motion was limited and pain level high. I called for an appt and was worked in that same day. Matt worked with me one on one for an hour. He educated me using his model of a spine and gave exercises to do at home. After 5 sessions im back to normal and can attend my exercise classes. It was worth going out of my plans network to seek help. I highly recommend this practice. read more

I saw Matt on an emergency basis for vestibular therapy for BPPV. Evolve was able to get me an appointment less than an hour after calling whereas the soonest I could get an appointment through my healthcare system was 2 days later. Anyone who's ever had a BPPV episode knows that there's no possible way to endure it for 2 days. I was so grateful Evolve was able to get me in so quickly and even more grateful that I didn't have to explain what BPPV is to the scheduler. She knew what it is and that I had to be seen quickly. I was more than happy to pay out of pocket for the high quality care and expertise I got from Matt. I'm someone who actually wants to know all about the science of things and he picked up on that quickly and obliged my curiosity. He is super skilled and very highly trained at vestibular therapy and I couldn't feel more blessed that I found him within a 30 minute drive just through an internet search of last resort. After injuring myself In a yoga class, and than again just getting out of a seat I knew or was pretty sure surgery was in my future. Actually Matt the physical therapist found me at a happy hour spot, and gave me his card. What made Evolve perfect for me was the chance to let the patient\ client help be in the process of the recovery, but more so Matt got to know me a bit, and I think a typical busy, loud gym type atmosphere would not have been ideal. I could have easily stayed at OHSU PT but the one on one support I was, and still am receiving at this location tends to be a better fit, and bonus for its location. So I would easily recommend Matt, and the people at Evolve physical therapy. Evolve I've noticed isn't the only PT in Sherwood, but they have already won some awards, again the low key quiet personalized help is, was a huge factor. I've been to other pt clinics in the past and sadly not all clinicians are the same. Of course I hope this is the last knee surgery I have, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back for any future treatments. read more
