They are known as the best in the town. Everyone passes with them! I was previously learning in London before relocating to Luton and I had a nightmare instructor before, hence, the apprehension to just take a lucky dip and call anyone up. Anyway, I had my first lesson with my driveJohnson's 'Jim'. It was a 2 hour assessment. At the end of the assessment 'Jim' said book my test , there was work to do but if I was willing to put 10-15 hours in - he promised me he could get me through first time. I booked the test immediately :-) - Jim turned up every lesson on time - All the lessons were structured, progress was recorded on a progress card and email reports were sent to me after each lesson with strengths and weaknesses - Lessons were fun and enjoyable - There were times other drivers would lose their patience with me, Jim dealt with these situations extremely well (especially compare to my previous instructor - his solution use to be the middle finger salute) - I took the test and passed with zero minors - I took just 11 hours to get to test standard (well happy with that) - driveJohnson's office also sent me a 'perfect driver - zero minor fault' award too which was a really nice touch. - I even received a courtesy email from the director personally congratulating me on getting zero minors. So pupils performance is monitored from the top too! If you are learning to drive in Luton, then driveJohnson's is a must and I recommend 'Jim' from my experience. He's honest, reliable, makes the lessons fun and interesting and of course he does what he says he will do for you! Quality company that genuinely cares

Ibraheem answered my call at 8pm and tried all he can to find me an instructor available & luckily found Tahir who calmed me down as i was panicking the morning of my test. He taught me 2 hours before my actual exam and tried all his best to squeeze everything i should know, from getting used to his very nice BMW 118D, maneuvers including the emergency stop, show me tell me & all the necessities of being a good driver. He was very patient and genuinely wanted me to pass my test. His teaching techniques are commendable and easy to keep in mind -- he will teach you the best technique there is (to compare with my other instructor). I highly recommend Tahir if you want someone who will genuinely want you to pass your test asap!

Although I know this does not apply to all of Warden Hill's instructors, the instructor I had was…read morean absolute nightmare. Warden Hill take on non-ADI driving instructors who are currently in training alongside ones who have passed, judging by the chap I had, he could never have passed. Alongside the usual gripes of an instructor being more like a drill sergeant than a teacher and not understanding the concept of a learning curve, he decided on several occasions not to bother showing up after booking lessons. Needless to say I changed to a different SoM and so on.

For example you can book a half day of driving and go out for a full day with one of the instructors (who are all ADIs as well as experienced emergency service instructors) along with a fellow student, which gives you a great insight into where you are and should be, as well as reassuring you that we all had to learn at some point rather than thinking you're the only learner around. It also gives you the chance to observe from the back seat on regular driving and observe road-positioning on manoeuvres from the kerb, which really helped me with parallel parking. As you would with lorry-driving, there's the obligatory lunch stop! The instructors are all well versed in teaching outside of driving and are very friendly/helpful. The prices are on par with all of the major driving schools and I believe there is a student discount available. They work out of Luton, Beds and Rushden, Northants, I would presume everywhere in between would be covered as well. The vehicles used are brand new 1.7l diesel Vauxhall Astras, which are a dream to drive for anyone from novice to seasoned driver. I can't recommend them enough.
