Even more surprising: I liked it. I had said to friend K (an advocate of Bikram) that we "should definitely try a class together sometime," the way you say it to an old school friend but both know you never really have the intention of catching up. However, K held me to it and there we were standing with about 40 others in a 30+ degree room ready to receive the benefits of a 90 min hot yoga session. You can opt for a 60 min express class and for $25 for a 7 day unlimited pass it is a pretty sweet way to test the waters before making a commitment. As a first timer I was made feel 100% at home, and although there wasn't one-on-one attention given to newbies due to the sheer number of yogis in the room, I never once felt unsupported or at a loss of what I should be doing. The moves are simple enough and our instructor, Regina, was right - the majority of issues are in the mind. The mind gives up before the body. I flit between attempting each move, realising my flexibility is crud and watching in awe the people in front of me whose limbs seem to be like a bendy doll you had as a kid. The 90 mins goes by surprisingly fast (so do the waves of nausea and dizziness) and by the end of the class you've sweated more than you'll ever sweat in your life. Go into this with no expectations - you may dislike it, you may not. A few tips that my first class taught me: 1. Set the simplest goal: stay in the room. That, as your instructor will guide you, is your only goal. Getting your body used to the heat is the biggest challenge. 2. Take a beach towel. Trust me. You'll need it to cover the entire surface of your yoga mat and you'll sweat enough to need it. 3.Go at your own pace and do your best to not compare yourself to those around you. 4.Give it a go - the worst that happens is you sit there and wait for the next move. Walking into Bonfire felt unlike any other exercise venue I've been to. It didn't feel like a gym, nor did it feel like a place where if you weren't wearing the latest Lorna Jane range you were an outcast. It was definitely worth the experience and I'd recommend it to anyone with a little curiosity about hot yoga. Oh, and the smoothie at the end - delicious!

Parking is a premium at this place, when there is a class you will find it hard to get a park if you're running late. I turned up for my 90 minute yoga session, prepared to sweat it out in a 38 degree room. I was high fived by the owner, who was very energetic and a very passionate which was a good change of pace for me. I gallantly high fived him back and entered the room. It was a bit hot, reminiscent of my time in The Philippines and Malaysia... but without a breeze. The class started and it was quite full. I counted at least 45 people in the room which I thought was a bit close for comfort... sweating and all. To make it more fun, we get plates to write our names down so the instructor can come around and personalise their chit chat with us (they only come around if you're doing a pose wrong as I found out) which I thought was smart. That was the longest 90 minutes of my life. My only criticism was that they could have played some music... the voice of an instructor talking through the 90 minutes non-stop seemed to make it go longer. I was relieved to walk out into the air-conditioning after the session was over. They have a cool change room with an outdoor seating area and showers, they also have a chiropractic area for you to get your posture figured out. The atmosphere I got was that of a hotel day spa... very nice interior. While the classes were a bit expensive for me $20+ depending on how long you want to sign up for, I thought it was a great place to start. I asked the receptionist if there were any days the classes weren't as crowded, and she replied with, that was nothing, busy nights can get up to 70 people... which I thought was a bit crazy. If you are in the local area, they are definetely worth checking out.

I must have got her on a bad day, or maybe I didn't and this is her norm. I waited for 45 minutes…read morein the waiting room because she had 3 separate rooms going at a time and just herself working on patients. Finally I went through to one of the surgery rooms, and asked politely how long it may take as I had a plane to catch later that day ( I was having a basic filling done). She looked very put out and said it would be around 30 to 45 minutes. Then she walked off and worked on another patient for 30 minutes before coming back to me. So I had already been there 1.15 hours without even being touched. Finally she came back and started the filling. I needed a xray first apparently. The filling was done and it was done rough. Both the method was rough and the filling was rough. She was being impatient with her dental nurse and was rough with my mouth and seemed angry with me also, because apparently my mouth wouldn't open far enough. My apology for having a 'small mouth' was met with a 'huff'. She asked if the filling felt okay, but it felt like the filling was billowing out of the top of the tooth and there was a sharp bit sticking up. She very begrudgingly fixed it. This whole process cost over $450.00. Two months later I was in agony and went to a different dentist who found that their was air inside the filling. He removed the filling that Jindalee Dental put in and refilled it. Perfect. I strongly recommend using a different dentist if you are searching for one. I feel that the 'cattle herding' of her clients, through her different rooms led to a shonky and rushed experience for me, that actually took 2.5 hours in total.

When my dentist of 20 years retired I decided to try St Lucia Dental which has been a very amazing and rewarding experience. Dr Angus Quinn has just completed a Bridge and when I saw the result I was nearly in tears as the colour match was perfect, the teeth looked more real than my original teeth, the fit was perfect and suddenly I am now really happy to smile. The surgery has the latest state-of-the-art equipment, bright surgeries with views of trees, the charges are competitive, and I must not forget to mention the very friendly and obliging reception staff. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this Dental practice.

The facilities are new, well cared for and hygienic. Parking is easy. The reception staff are always friendly and helpful. The dental assistants have always been attentive and gentle. I continue to go there. There is one little bug bear and that's witnessing the owner having hissy fits at his staff over minor issues like appointment stuff ups. I was there recently to see it first hand as I was walking past and it made me very uncomfortable. The staff elevated the volume of the music but it wasn't enough to drown out his loud angry tirade. I just thought it was quite unprofessional and I felt really badly for the dental assistants being roused on. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, that's all. In this day and age, this type of behaviour would get you a visit to Human Resources for bullying.
