Deceptive Billing & Unethical "Discharge" Requirements Rating: 1 Star I had to fight to get a refund for an unauthorized $25 'Wellness' fee that was auto-charged to my card. More disturbingly, I was told that the only way to 'discontinue' the fee was to be discharged from physical therapy--effectively conditioning my medical care on a gym membership. To the community, know your rights: * CA Civil Code § 1812.82: Gym/Wellness subscriptions require a separate written contract. Evolution auto-enrolled me without one. * Patient Abandonment (CA Law): A medical provider cannot condition your care or discharge on the payment of non-medical fitness fees. * SB 478: Mandatory 'junk fees' added to medical bills are illegal in California as of July 2024. The manager only refunded the money once I cited these specific codes. It is unacceptable to use a patient's medical discharge as leverage to keep them paying for a gym membership they don't want and already have through their HOA. Excellent therapists, but the administrative side is using predatory tactics. read more

The experience starts with the warm welcome from the front desk folks who always greet you with a smile at check in. They're also super helpful with scheduling and tracking down answers to any questions I have. Then working my way upstairs to the PT area is welcoming as well. Anna is always very friendly and cheery but also very knowledgeable about stretching and strengthening exercises to help get me on my feet again. I've had good experiences with the other PTs I've worked with as well so no complaints here. One note...I don't love the weekly $2.99 wellness fee but everything else has gone well. read more

I had to go to Evolution because of a hip injury i sustained. I was very worried I would need surgery and I really didn't want to get surgery so I chose to try PT first. I started working with Brooke, and she did a great job working with me to understand what movements and activities caused me pain so we could figure out what my exercise plan is. I've been working with Brynn Condy for about six months now for some knee pain that's bugged me for years -- mostly during skiing, running, and lifting. My main goal wasn't just to get rid of the pain, but to actually improve my knee health so I can keep doing these things long-term. I've been to a handful of PTs over the years for different stuff, and this has been the best experience by far. I've seen real improvements, and I also have much better understanding of what to do on my own going forward. A lot of PTs I've worked with in the past were focused on just stopping the pain. Brynn actually took the time to understand that I wanted to fix the underlying issue, not just manage it. My experience at evolution included purchasing a personal training package (8x/month). The only reason I stopped was due to personal finances but during the 3 months I was there, I had a positive experience. I worked with a trainer named Paul and he was helpful in identifying exercises that worked for me, mixed up the routine regularly so that I didn't get bored, and helped me get used to the format of working out. I've been going to Evolution Physical Therapy now since May 2025 due to lower back pain. I now also go for shoulder work due to a torn labrum and also taking a small group training class. I'm really enjoying the routines and all the people I've worked. I really hate to leave this review. I think the actual PT service is excellent. Everyone is professional and caring. That alone is enough for a 5-star review. However, Evolution's weekly "wellness" fee of $2.99 during treatment is downright predatory. Even though management knows when your treatment ends they continue to charge and expect you to cancel manually. However, no one answers the phone due to being understaffed and no one responds to voicemails or emails. I had to physically go in and demand my money back. This is also SEPARATE from the insurance charge as when I paid my actual bill the billing company couldn't do anything about it even though they were aware of the practice. So, this is an absolutely unnecessary charge that the company who runs the facility is forcing upon clients. I feel like charging this amount is to make people feel cheap or uncomfortable with complaining. I personally don't care if it was 99 cents. A weekly charge for a service I'm not even being provided adds up. Evolution, if you need to charge this amount for whatever reason then it's incumbent upon you to handle it. As far as I'm concerned, that isn't the case right now. You are playing a game and doing a disservice to the integrity of your team that actually provides an excellent service. Stop it. read more

The first person I talked to waived the $75 fee but shortly after I received a call from another office personnel who insisted I pay the $75 I received no understanding from the second office personnel who bordered on rudeness. When I first came here it was for physical therapy for my weak wrist. Priya gave me the strength I needed to get back into climbing. She listened carefully and adjusted the exercises according to how I felt on a week to week basis. After getting better I decided to try Evo's personal training program to continue my journey to get stronger on a wholistic level. After training with Raham for a little over six months, I can truly say I've never felt so strong and capable. He has not only made me stronger through his expert evaluation but has made the process fun and has given me a positive view on being active and healthy. I came in with lower back pain issues- I do barbell strength training at my local gym. Before visiting with Annika, I could not low bar back squat without instant pain. I temporarily subbed back squats with front squats as they didn't hurt as much. Since working with Annika, I can low bar back squat pain-free. She is extremely knowledgeable and highly educated. They call her Priya, but I call her the GOAT. I've been rehabbing from an Achilles rupture repair for the last 4 months and have had the pleasure of working with Priya. She is patient, warm, knowledgeable, and a master at her craft. She takes the time to understand your specific needs (we each recover at our own pace, after all) and ensures you're taken care of. I've worked with various sports-related coaches in my life, and Priya reminds me of the best of them; she pushes you to do your best, encourages you when you need it, and provides mental support when you hit a wall.
