First of all I want to say when I first got to detox of course I didn't want to be there. The encouragement from the staff nurses and doctors helped me want to stay I was an alcoholic for over 20 years and through medicine support and love from everyone there helped change my life..After detox I went and lived in the beautiful home in Waltham and I loved it there and all of the ladies there as well.. I stayed there for a month.. below are the pictures of me while I was there and you can obviously tell that getting this help and treatment and sticking to it completely changed my life.. so I stand here today back in Alabama over 200 days clean.. This summer, an Evoke facility IMPRISIONED ME AGAINST MY WILL for three days after voluntarily checking into what was described to my husband and myself as "a resort-like therapy-based retreat." To my horror, it was a psych ward that treated me and other patients horribly, stripped us of our rights, lied to us, withheld necessary medication, stole my personal property and held me against my will. I tried DESPERATELY TO LEAVE once I was behind the last locked door, but all my pleas were ignored for days. They do not care about your mental health- they will actually DESTROY IT. ALL FOR MONEY!!!! PLEASE, if you have had a bad experience here, contact the COHASSET POLICE DEPARTMENT at 781-383-1212 and/or contact the MA DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION SERVICES at 617-626-8000. I know MANY of us have been trying to speak out about what happened to us there. I plan on suing this unethical and criminal company and welcome everyone who was also mistreated and had their rights taken away by Evoke employees to email me at wendyanngus@yahoo.com. Marketed as a resort like therapeutic wellness solution. Jail like facility, lack of communication between staff members with patients, running out of food, trash over flowing, won't let you leave even if you're not on medication. They say you're free to leave if you sneak out during a smoke break but they won't give you your valuables back. So no phone, wallet, keys, etc. Won't help aftercare unless you agree to theirs so they get the numbers to make them look like they're performing. The actual staff (nurses, and MOST case workers are great, but their leadership are scam artists) if you go here and find yourself in the situation, make sure you have your insurance info and call them to tell them not to make another payment after the date youre supposed to leave. read more

I recommend you think twice before going here. There are good things about the place, but the drawbacks are HUGE. The recovery specialists are very kind, but overworked. They do the best they can. Unfortunately, you are rushed through the admission process, and you will regret THAT when you sign out. Before you sign ANYTHING, check it, and recheck it. You get there, and are obviously in distress. When you are going through the discharge process, you will be given LITERALLY 5 MINUTES to pack up, even if you are leaving for the airport. If you turn up with anything missing, it is just TOO BAD FOR YOU. This is not the fault of the people who are 'boots on the ground' helping you, they are very kind and caring. The problem is with the administration. BE SMART. Have a loved one and a good attorney take care of your interests. read more

I called someone else for outpatient services and they said I needed to go inpatient to these people which I didn't. So I politely said no thank you and went on my way. Days later I actually had to BLOCK them from my phone because some guy named Frank from the number 833-922-1625 wouldn't stop calling and texting me trying to convince me to go. They just wAnt my insurance $. That was actually the first thing they asked about, as opposed to "why did you call ? ". That question didn't come until later. Also when I later asked my insurance company about it, they said evoke was not even in network Furthermore, according to their own website, their medical director has a background in emergency medicine and not psych. If he did a psych residency at all they didn't mention it. Also, the adorable little girl working as their director of nursing only has an associates in nursing , according to them. Lmao ! I don't understand how anyone takes them seriously. I work in the field and nobody around here has even heard of them. Thank god I didn't fall victim to their scam. Believe every negative thing you read. I have worked in places like this and the ones that look so nice and pretty are the most corrupt. If you really need quality inpatient treatment for whatever your poison is , do your self a favor and go to some place that looks like a sh-t hole. Evoke was not great, I recommend weigh your options before going there. The negative comments here are all absolutely correct. When you are in detox (which bills for 4K per day) you are TAKEN CARE OF EXCELLENTLY) Tim, the Nurse Practioner helped me accomplish my goals of cutting down on my medications that I was taking safely and comfortably. He was kind, respectful and even though very busy, always made time for me. Once you go to the rehab (css) you are on your own. Your clinician will be very overworked, busy and doesn't have much time for you. Phone calls have to be requested and are monitored & on speaker phone while they take notes. I've been to several facilities and never experienced that. The staff are kind & helpful, some more than others but they too are also very busy, overworked & truly try their best. The classes were terrible, I'm all set with painting & making collages, or learning the difference between covid and the flu (that was literally a class we had). The food is not bad, lots of snacks. The facility is clean. They do store runs a few times a week for cigarettes which was nice. You can also vape inside. The discharge team will try to sell you on their PHP, On Call Evoke. They call families, husbands etc. without you to convince them you need more treatment (as long as they can keep billing your insurance they will). I understand they are a business & have a bottom line. But, the way they try to push you into doing something you weren't planning on comes off like all they care about is money. My clinician didn't even have time to review my file and asked me how I was doing coming off a different substance than I was. I was floored. That's how busy they are and it's sad because they are very nice, but once you mention you are planning on doing something different than their PHP On Call, they basically don't want to help you any longer. The bad outweighed the good. Maybe if it were a little cheaper, I wouldn't have felt that way. But if you want to watch tv all day and smoke cigs for 4K a day, this is your place. If you want true help, you may want to try another place! Edit: I just received the bill they sent to my insurer for Chiropractic. They billed almost $500 for 1 hour. Are you kidding me? You aren't making enough money off of people. You bill chiropractic separately. Do you send a bill for food too? I'm absolutely floored that you have the nerve to operate the way you do. You are not a 5 star rehab. You are a 1 or 2 star rehab at best. It's a disorganized, cluster-fu$& mess. I forgot to add, don't ever ask anyone a question. The answer will be and I quote: I will put it in the thread. Meaning, I'll do nothing and pretend to care but I really don't. Also, DONT have blood work done. The 'lab' is a dirty room they converted to make even more money off people. When I went for my bloodwork, they handed me the wrong persons paperwork. HIPAA means nothing to Evoke. And when I called after I left to ask a question, the woman I spoke with mentioned my review and said it was unfair if me to write it. Are you serious? It's called freedom of speech. If you need to detox, I strongly encourage you to do it, but don't go here!!! They hold your cell phone and credit card hostage so you can't leave and they coerce you into staying until your insurance or money runs out. The pharmacy is overwhelmed and you frequently have to wait in line for 2 hours or more for your meds in the evening. There is only one place for patients to sit so everyone has to sit in one room with the TV blaring. The "gym" etc. that they advertise isn't available to detox patients. The "fresh air walks" are just just a herd of people going out for a smoke. read more

If at all possible, do not send your loved one to this place! This is not a healthy environment to start your journey for sobriety. It is an old fashion 1950s lock down facility where they detain you long enough in the hopes that you will change your ways. Very little modern research or best practice methods are used. Communication is incredibly poor with outright. Lies told to the clients; Evoke will say anything to get you there and then change their policies: no visitation, no family counseling. No cell phone use, no Internet use, all phone calls are observed. If you even suggest that you are going to leave, you will be threatened and manipulated to stay. The step down program offers housing after residential treatment did not even offer adequate transportation to NA or AA meetings. Relied on a public community Center for a day program. A community center that had active outbreaks of physical fights, and those actively using also attending. The step down center then personally called the clinician that our family had set up for aftercare and sabotage the IOP aftercare, we had set up to take the place of the disaster step down house. read more

Let me start off by saying this program has saved my life and truly allowed me to thrive in recovery. Clinical and medical staff are really accommodating. The moment I walked through the doors I was welcomed with open arms. Didn't really know what to expect but they made the process so simple. I have a hard time sharing in group type settings so working with my individual therapist really allowed me to open up and address the things that i've kept bottled up all these years. The program itself is really nice, comfortable beds, great food, and the staff truly have your best interest at heart. I can confidently say with every fiber in my body that Evoke Wellness has changed my life for the better and highly recommend this program to anyone that is struggling with substance abuse or mental health. read more
