Beware!!I recently had negative experiences with the head person who runs estate sales specifically in Los Alamos. Based on an obvious attitude toward people of color, she was visibly uncomfortable, rude and outright mean. She accused me of harassing her because I asked if she could reduce the price of a very expense rug I was interested in purchasing and which I subsequently purchased. It's a pleasure to write a good review for Carrie and the folks at Everything Estates. I've attended her sales for years, but I also recently referred her to one of my sellers (I'm a Realtor) to liquidate an estate on Santa Fe's historic eastside. Carrie was kind and careful in a difficult heir situation and her staff handled the sale in a tight neighborhood extremely well. There was a tiny snafu after the sale was completed and Carrie was on it and took care of things without having to be prompted. The person who running estate sale is rude, don't waste your time to shop with them or hire em. Use nicer people who will respect you.

The good thing about selling your property at an estate sale in Santa Fe is there are better alternatives to EveryThing Estates. Because I didn't have the volume or potential sales, when I contacted Carrie of ETE she recommended "this fellow I know" Tyler to handle my sale. I later learned it's her son. Even though I have shoes older than Tyler, I figured, okay, what could go wrong given my decades of experience hosting my own or helping others with estate sales, and this one being a straightforward one-day event. But from the start, Tyler was condescending and arrogant towards me as well as to some customers. He even felt the need to READ THE SIMPLE ONE-PAGE CONTRACT TO ME OUT LOUD which was my first clue this might be a bumpy ride. It was also only through his good graces that I was "allowed" to be present (in the house) during the sale hours and the few times he came inside with questions, I did keep a straight face. Some other issues I had was him selling items without my permission (I caught 2 before they were sold), and during set up the night before he asked to use some of my packing tape and black trash bags. And then he sold them the next day! There was wacky inconsistent pricing such as marking a beautiful vintage dresser in pristine condition the same prices as a woodworking bench made from scrap wood THE SAME PRICE - and he used 4x6 size permanent sticky-back paper for the price label! The items were placed side by side, and neither sold. At the same time, he used a quarter-sized white sticker to price a 4' x 8' framed white board which also didn't sell probably because no one could see it was for sale. A large pilates ball was a dollar and a cheesy faded plastic rooster from a 1950s kitchen was marked $25. Neither sold. One customer saw something in the yard, but not part of the sale, and she asked me how much. "8 dollars," I replied. I heard him sell it to her for $5. While moving a treadmill from a back room to the garage, he left mud/dirt marks on the white carpet. I waited few minutes for him to say something, but when I finally mentioned it, I got "Oh, sorry." and no move to clean it up. What saved the day was Tyler's crew of four. It was a cold and snowy day and this sale was in the opened garage. It was miserable! That morning I offered to buy them all lunch and he said, "No, I feed my own people." and later when I complimented their hard, good work, he said, "Yes, my girls go a good job." My girls? Tyler's skills are mostly around set up which is important. He's really good at display and he does work very hard. He crammed so much stuff in that garage and it all looked great. Hung pictures, camping gear, tools, etc. on garage walls which made room for smaller items on tables which he brought. Unfortunately, he did not remove any of (my) nails at the end. He was also excellent at tallying up receipts at the end of the day and very carefully made sure I understood (yes, he read stuff to me) and that it was all acceptable - and it was. Hopefully, this was the beginning of more learning experiences for Tyler. Bottom line, I was so glad I didn't have to organize or conduct or clean up this sale by myself, but if I had, I do think I would have made more money and it would have been more fun, even in the cold. read more

Rude employees and prices are extremely over priced. They behave like they are running downtown galleries of Santa Fe. Hello, you are just running a nicer version of a garage sale. Went to a sale yesterday and they rudely told us in line "There is a lot of expensive stuff in there, be careful and don't break anything." *For Families in Los Alamos, if you need an estate sale done go to Cricket Window. They are kind, have reasonable prices, and will sell out all your items professionally and efficiently. Keep it local. read more

From start to finish, this was a professional job. The owner / director has a great deal of expertise regarding the process and with appraising high value items. She prepped me from the start about what to expect, what would sell easily, and what might be more challenging. There was also great empathy with the rough experience of parting with family items after someone passes away. I am so grateful and thoroughly satisfied with Everything Estates. read more

Please avoid this company. The person in charge of a sale I attended was rude and heartless. I feel bad for the people who hire them because they are extremely greedy and prey on people who are grieving or suffering from misfortune. I would never consider hiring them to represent my estate, any of my family members, or myself. Beware!! read more
