How Filming a Success Story Gave Birth to One…read more In December 2014, my company landed a project with a new client that involved creating a "customer success video" to showcase the use of my client's equipment at one of their customer facilities. That customer was located in Bakersfield, California; I was 3,000 miles away in New York. Since this was both my first time working in the video medium and my very first project with this client, I knew it was crucial to retain the services of an experienced professional. I searched online and made several calls before finding a production house that would work within my budget and that I'd be able to work with remotely on the editing and production process once I returned back home. Fortunately, I found Jeff at Highlights Video Productions. Jeff was already at the customer site when I arrived early the morning of the film shoot, and his tripod was all set up with his camera ready to roll for our first filming sequence. Given that the premises were comprised largely of warehousing space, a small laboratory and a few cubicles, we needed to get creative to produce a visually captivating video that would showcase my client's laboratory instrumentation products and reflect well on both my client and their customer. The small amount of ingenuity we applied during filming and later, the use of external imagery and footage Jeff weaved in during production, paid off well in adding visual appeal that would engage viewers. One I was back in New York, Jeff and I collaborated on editing the hour-long raw footage into a concise 4-minute video that met the project goals. Several cuts were needed before we were ready to debut the video to the client and several more, once executives at the client organization weighed in with their change requests. While there were more edits than either of us anticipated, together we identified the best approaches to making them and creating a testimonial video that made everyone look good. Interestingly enough, the project represented a "first" for all parties involved: It was the first time my client had used video to portray a customer success testimonial; the first time our spokesperson appeared on camera; the first time Jeff and I worked together; and, the first time I worked on a project for this client. Despite all these "maiden voyages," my collaboration with Jeff was a success story of all its own: We received high praise from the client, a global leader in its industry, who described the finished product as "a great video!" also saying, "It's great that we have customers who sing such high praises for our instruments." In addition, their Bakersfield customer also had good things to say about the video, jokingly writing, "You actually made me look like I know what I'm talking about!" Jeff and I had shared both an enjoyable and educational experience collaborating on this project together as I'm sure he'll tell you. In the 6 weeks we worked together to fine-tune the production, Jeff was always accommodating, responsive, creative and resourceful, helping me deliver an excellent project that we're all very proud of. I definitely plan on reaching out to Jeff again on future video production projects and recommend him to anyone looking to "highlight" their corporate or personal brand.

These guys are awesome, I hardly noticed them at my wedding but when I saw the video, they were right there the entire night! Both Jeff and his dad are so nice and are very talented. I would recommend them to anyone!!
