Part of…read moreMcHenry Excavating scope of work included establishing GPS points of reference, and installing drainage systems, including stormwater drainage. During concrete construction it was determined that McHenry Excavating installed a stormwater manhole approximately 4' (feet too close to a building. The remedy required cutting approx. 18"-24" down the top of the manhole which allowed a drive over drainage grate to be installed on the top of the manhole instead of the plan specified curb inlet into the side of the manhole. As McHenry Excavation was 100% responsible for establishing all GPS co-ordinates for the project (and they had installed the manhole/stormwater underground RCP piping) I explained to Mike McHenry that his attempt to bill our company for required remedial work was incorrect. He denied that he was responsible and refused to cover the remedial costs associated with installing an acceptable solution. If less than 1(one) star were an option in this review, less than1(one) star would be my choice. If you do not want an irresponsible, dishonest, and unsatisfactory result for any excavation/gravel etc. project you may need, I would recommend not using Mike McHenry Excavation under any circumstances. Participant beware!!

I use them for all the material I need, top soil, gravel, shale, and anything else i may need. ive used them for pads and driveways, and they never disappoint. They are good people and do great work. Ponds are their specialty and they know more about pond building than any other excavation company I've met. Their youngest owner operator, Zach, is in his late 20s and has been running equipment since he was 12 years old He is a fine opperator and a people person. Weve grown up together, and I know personally he relentlessly studies dirt work and pond building, Just to broaden his knowledge, every time he's not on a dozer or excavator. They are a wonderful family with the same passion for excavation. There is no one more qualified for pond builds. They have large equipment and do large jobs, but if you need smaller jobs done they will rent smaller equipment to accommodate you or refer you to someone they trust to complete the smaller jobs. I trust them with all my excavation needs. They get an A+ from me every time.
