So, I tend to split chinese takeaways into two categories; brown and colourful. Brown chinese food is the thick, very salty chinese takeaway food that tends to be in a brown sauce and is what you want to eat when you're really hungover, or just want to stuff your face. Colourful chinese is the sort that is fresh and light and has lots of vegetables in it and is a bit more, well, chinese I suppose.
Evergreen is a colourful chinese - much lighter and in my mind, more flavoursome. The shop front looks like it should really be a restaurant, and the interior is big enough. There are some lovely large fish tanks to watch while you wait on the comfy sofas. It is all very sumptuous.
The service is usually swift and food lovely. All the usual suspects are there, with a few house specialities. It is just sad that we always seem to be the only ones in there. If you're in the area, check it out. read more
