After lots of research last year we decided to send our daughter to this school. Previously she had…read morebeen diagnosed as having a learning disability to which we showed the principle and educators at the school the paperwork just to make they would be able to accommodate her. She has now been there for a full year and they have not been able to accommodate her as they promised they would be able to. The last meeting we had the principle said "we produce honors students here" after which she said our daughter might want to get evaluated. Our daughter feels left out and unwelcome at this school. It's true that the principle makes the place sounds great, but that is her job too. As a parent if you try and give feedback she will just say "oh we are already doing those things" but no proof. Furthermore, the faith teachings are not being practiced. We had been contemplating whether or not to send her back next year however we have made our decision not to due to the lack of response from the principle. I've emailed and called her several times regarding our daughters future at the school and what we would like to see and we have yet to hear a response.

If I could give a zero star rating, I would. Was bullied for being transgender. Administrators did…read morenothing to my bullies and ended up targeting and suspending me. When we had a meeting they cited me being transgender and depressed as reasons that may "make me harm my peers". I never returned the violence, I would endlessly tell the adults around me. They would promise things would change, that I deserve respect, but it was all false promises. The fact is that I was always compliant with rules, I had good grades, I was quiet and shy. I never had a history of violence, I never did as I went through this school and graduated later on. Many of my teachers saw me as a bright student. I was a student in 2015-2016. I am 21 now. The trauma of the bullying and assaults had changed me as a person as a teen and young adult. This school also had a football coach as a well known Proud Boy (a racist organization, they are known to gather at a bar in Lake Stevens)

I attended Northshore 2 decades ago as a middle schooler, and at the time I had mixed feelings. I…read morewas a hyperactive kid who struggled with focus regardless of my environment, yet I felt I was treated unfairly at the time. Deep down I knew this was probably a result of my actions and/or weaknesses, and overall I knew I loved and respected the staff and environment of the place, however as the years went on I was tempted to be bitter (especially after feeling so well received in future public schools). Fast forwarding a decade had brought me more experiences and perspective, allowing me to more thoroughly appreciate what Northshore was doing in my life at the time. They held a high standard in a way that balanced love and firmness. I think we were both growing and learning at that time, and I cannot deny that I was shown love, guidance, an example of excellence, etc. Super important things to a growing kid. Fast forward another decade, I was able to return to Northshore and visit with my old principal and some of the teachers I had back then. An awesome experience to see them as fellow adults, see their personal/professional growth and the success of their academics, school campus, etc. Even got to have a chat with one of my childhood heroes Marc Marion. Marc: well done, good and faithful servant! Coming full circle, I now have a kindergartener at Northshore. We weighed many options during our research, and we felt the overall benefits far outweighed the sacrifices. Almost a year into school, I can confidently say we made the right decision. Every school and every person has issues, quirks, etc., yet the level of excellence in all areas has surpassed our expectations. I could list all the positives I've seen, but I think Northshore does a well enough job of marketing themselves, so I'll leave it at this: I couldn't ask for a better place to entrust a significant portion of my son's daily mental/physical/spiritual growth. Montessori School of Snohomish County Review (MSCC). After the Fall of 2022, it has been more like…read morea hostile takeover in comparison to the well-run Montessori School that we had been enrolled in for almost three years prior.   These are just a few documented situations I have seen in the past 18 months that have made me un-enroll and leave these reviews and reports to various groups.   1 Teacher turnover. There has been a concerning amount of teacher turnover, teachers who have been teaching for multiple years, had continued education and training in the Montessori world. They valued the education and structure they were giving and teaching to children. They left for lack of organization, and violations of children's safety (medicine mix-ups, observations of students being grabbed, put in restraint time outs, children being cut down for what they wore or were given to eat from home. False situations are being documented targeting children they don't want to work with anymore). They left because of not being paid correctly, not having the correct ratios or ages in the classroom, not being given adequate breaks, and being threatened by office employees that listen to conversations from the cameras throughout the buildings. These teachers are now being replaced with "walk-in applications" teachers with no experience. There has been no confirmation that background checks are even being done.   2 Communication on school closings, and fees. One minute they are a school and go according to the Everett Public School calendar for days off/snow days. One minute they are a care facility and want to do days off for conferences for two- and three-year-olds. They seem to change the way they run things based on what is convenient for them. There is no rhyme or reason. As a parent, you are just at the mercy of the poorly communicated, and illy timed messages from the app.   3 You will NEVER get a callback; three observed concerns were so concerning that the owner was called directly. All three times she answered her phone, she declared that the situation was concerning and did try to communicate her dedication to safety but yet... she continued to allow her office employees to make some major mistakes without real repercussions on them. She may be dedicated to safety by handing out money for new locks on a few doors but that is about all that is seen. There is never a call back on a true solution.   4 Not Montessori anymore. They may have 1-2 teachers that have previous Montessori backgrounds, or a little continuing education. But generally, outside of the materials and the "rug play" there are no Montessori foundations or accreditations. Just the Montessori payment monthly.   Care is hard to find but keep searching.
