At our first meeting with Elizabeth she had a folder with recommended vendors. We felt the best part about Houston Station is that ALL of the vendors are in the building, they are used to working seamlessly together, and Elizabeth has long standing relationships with them. At our planning meetings, Elizabeth and the vendors were finishing our sentences! That is how much they anticipated our needs. By the end of the wedding, we felt like Elizabeth and the staff were family. Elizabeth is no nonsense, runs a tight ship, and has the biggest heart of gold. She is a HUGE Alabama fan, and my husband is a HUGE Auburn fan. Of course we were married on the Iron Bowl. Elizabeth set up the grooms room with a TV for the game so my husband could watch it until the last minute. Even in the face of Alabama's loss to Auburn, she knew how special it was for my husband, and she graciously played along. Clearly, I can't say enough about the venue and the people. Located in a converted warehouse Jeff and his business partners have created the ideal location that is tucked away south of downtown. From the outside, Houston Station doesn't appear to be anything at all. Was I surprised when I walked up the stairs! A mix of exposed wood and brick generates a very comfortable feel for this space which accommodates about 250 to 300 people. Forget all of the fussy rules, Jeff who is the facility manager emphasizes the flexibility and versatility of the event space. The space is handicap accessible and when you rent, you get the building for the entire day. A great kitchen and private rooms for preparation enhance the characteristics of the station to make other vendors happy. Also, a fantastic little outdoor terrace would be a fabulous place to chill in warmer weather. The possibilities are seriously endless!

The woman that are involved in this organization are absolutely wonderful, educated, supportive, helpful, warm, friendly, and represent the best of the best in services, and companies that are actively doing business in TN. This is a massive operation with multiple floors, BOWLING and a massive stage and dance floor. While we didn't order food, we did drink quite a bit and found the drinks to be pretty strong, which is good given the fact that your drinks will likely average anywhere from $12-$15. The highlight of the space is the stage and dance floor area. We were fortunate enough to have several performers for this event and the quality acoustics combined with the spacious area to dance, which was mostly line dancing for this crowd, was a nice feature. I am so used to being overcrowded in places like this, but I was actually able to get a line dance or two in without stepping on too many feet. Bartender service was prompt and friendly, but the number of security and bouncers at the front tells me that this place must get rowdy from time to time. That being said, this would definitely be a spot. I would check out in the future.

The lineup: Bayway, Kruelty, and Peeling Flesh. This place was Rockin' beyond belief! We had people stage-diving, doing roundhouse kicks, one dude just storming through the crowd like a bulldozer, an insane mosh pit, the best drummer I have ever seen for Kruelty, an extremely underrated band in Bayway, and energy through the roof with Peeling Flesh! It was absolute organized chaos! And I couldn't have been happier. Imagine a scene where it's energy Level 10 from start to finish across all three bands. That's what happened. And it was the perfect venue for it because it's small but not too small. The parking and drink prices here are high as they would be at any concert venue, but the staff is great. A really chill while also alert staff that treats everyone like a human being as opposed to a piece of revenue. The entire experience was incredibly authentic. And if you're hungry before the show, there is a barbecue place and a pizza shop within walking distance. Highly recommended! Awesome experience. By the way, the parking lot is literally right next to the building. It's super simple.

We stopped by Pete's Dueling Piano Bar over Labor Day weekend while I was in Nashville with some…read morefriends for a football game. We had been exploring different parts of Nashville throughout the weekend, and Pete's was definitely one of the more entertaining stops we made. The atmosphere here was exactly what you would expect from a dueling piano bar. The music was loud, energetic, and a lot of fun. The pianists did a great job keeping the crowd involved, and there was a good mix of songs that had everyone singing along. It was one of those places where you can walk in not knowing exactly what to expect and quickly find yourself having a great time. Going with a group of friends made it even better. We were able to grab some drinks, relax, laugh, sing along, and just enjoy the experience. There was a great energy in the room, and the performers really knew how to keep things moving. After spending the weekend in Nashville for the football game, this was a great way to experience another side of the city. We had already visited several historical landmarks and other Nashville attractions, so spending some time at a lively piano bar was a nice change of pace.
