I have to admit that, even though these places are ten a penny on Gloucester Road (and in fact anywhere where civilisation has the slightest of footholds), I quite like the Evening Post stores dotted about the city. This one has very friendly staff, does everything you could think of needing on a daily basis and generally supports the local community that little bit more than the corporations trying to turn our lives into a conveyor belt system (like a giant airport, I guess). There's a bunch of notices for second-hand goods and houses in the area, too, so that always worth a peek while you get your bread, cigarettes, booze, milk and newspapers. read more
