Just moved to Silver City from Phoenix, and after months of putting off a cut and color because of…read morethe move, I desperately needed to do something with my hair. A Yelp search brought up Belleza Salon at the top with good reviews, so I booked an appointment. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the cut and color turned out fine. Not the best I've ever had, but perfectly okay. Then came the shock: $160! For comparison, I used to get my cut and color done in Arcadia, one of the nicer areas of Phoenix, and never paid more than $120, often for noticeably better results. I would have happily given 5 stars if the price matched the value, but $160 feels steep for a small town in southwest New Mexico. We moved here partly because the cost of living is lower than in Phoenix. Turns out that's true for most things, just not at Belleza Salon. 3 stars. Friendly staff, decent work, but priced well above what the experience delivers.

What I love is that this place is a real barber shop, and they do straight razor shaves. So I got cleaned up in the hair, and had the guy give me a shave. Then, when given my total upon payment, I noticed the price went up several dollars (combined increase total for two haircuts)!
