A very nice clean shop. Anne did a superb job of cutting my hair. If I was going to be in the area, I'd go back to her.

As a twenty-something in a town which seems to cater to an older demographic, I was stoked to find Curl Up & Dye. The gals are on point with hair trends and more than capable of executing. When Kelly was on maternity leave, she had Tyler Brewer handle my cut. Tyler was FANTASTIC. These gals are great. Truly. I…read morehad long hair and decided to go to a medium length to cut all the dead hair off and start over. I even brought a picture of how I wanted my hair cut. The girl said she could that cut and seemed confident which made me comfortable. I told her I did not want my hair above my shoulders which she said she wouldn't go that short. Well, I ended up with an uneven Bob cut above my shoulders! I will admit that she asked if I'm sure I wanted to cut my long hair before she started to chopped away but I was assuming she knew what she was doing and that it wouldn't be as short and uneven as it turned out. This is not something that can be fixed right now without going shorter which I will NOT do. Guess I'll just let nature take it course and never let anyone touch my hair again!

I was really disappointed by my experience at this salon. I have shoulder length, platinum blonde…read morehair, but my natural color is a dark brunette. I came in for a bleach and tone on my natural root. My first red flag was that they had me sign a waiver for the bleach - but they told me that it was just to inform me that my hair could be damaged by the bleach, which I understand. When Diane first bleached the roots, it lifted as an incredibly brassy orange. Toner didn't end up fixing it - so we decided to bleach a second time. She applied the bleach and sat me under the heat lamp for 15 minutes. It immediately burned so badly. I hit 10 minutes and the pain was unbearable (and I have a high pain tolerance) so I went to the back and asked her to take it off. Both her and the other hairdresser convinced me to keep it on despite the insane burning. My hair looked nice, but styled poorly. I went home to rinse and restyle and my scalp burned so badly in the shower. The next morning I woke up and my scalp was literally covered in scabs. It was hard to the touch and painful. I ended up going back to the salon in the afternoon, and asked Diane if I could speak to the manager. She reminded me about the waiver, but I feel like I signed an understanding about damage, not an agreement to be severely burned. She was apologetic and called her manager, but didn't get a response. I asked her to give me a call once she got a response. I never got a call back. I'm really not someone to make a fuss, but my friends convinced me that I needed to go back because of how painful this experience was. I cannot believe how unprofessional this was. Please do not go to this salon. It took about a week and a half for all of the scabs to fall off, and I had gotten my hair done a few days before an important trip.

She made sure the other lady working saw us to make sure we would have a spot in line when we came back. We had no problem coming back as we had some shopping to do anyway. When we were checking out we noticed the last man who was ahead of us was just getting up off the chair. This was at 2:40 pm. So, I took my son to the counter. This man got up off the a bench in front of Smart Style in a hurry to cut in front of us, which I let go since I knew we were technically next in line. When she started to take him as next customer, I brought up the fact that we had been in earlier and were told we were next after the gentleman who had just left. I told her this even before the line cutting guy's behind even hit the chair. The woman working shrugged and smirked and said, "I wasn't around, so.." Yes she was around to top it off, so, I said, "Well, we were next." . Again she shrugged and gave me that stupid smirk again. When my husband finished paying at Wal-Mart I told him what happened, he confronted the woman and said you knew we were next in line and you still took that man. She just said, "Umm, I can take your son after him (motioning to line cutting man in chair)... but..." she had no real answer. We won't be back, it's not a loss, there are many qualified hair cutting places in Silver, just annoying when you're told you're next and get treated like this.
