I'm normally not the one who will leave reviews, but I feel the need to warn women about this doctor. I am only giving one star for the PA (Grace) and the nursing staff. Dr. Carlson gaslights her patients and only cares about getting paid.
1. You might as well do your best to get an appointment first thing in the morning. If not, bring a book or a tablet or some activity because you could wait up to 2+ hours before you're seen. I had a 3:30 appointment for a rather painful procedure, and sat in the waiting room, anxious, until 5:30.
2. I'm sure we all know how painful an IUD insertion is. I requested anesthesia for that procedure (which I know for a fact is not out of the ordinary) and Dr. Carlson assured me I wouldn't need it, and that it's not necessary at all and a waste of time. She also told me I would be able to drive myself home. Wrong. I almost passed out during the procedure (not the first time I've almost passed out from pain in her office). I couldn't drive myself. I had someone drive me home while I sobbed from the pain.
3. Dr. Carlson will throw a random diagnosis at you, a pretty serious one at that, and give you no further explanation. BUT, don't worry! She'll make sure you come back for a follow-up appointment so she can get her money!
4. She truly does not care who you are, she just wants her money. Grace on the other hand will ask you how school/work is going, will actually engage with you, etc. I always feel rushed when I see Dr. Carlson. No pleasantries are ever exchanged with her. I really think she does not care about her patients. She only wants the money.
For the sake of your mental and reproductive health, do not see Dr. Carlson. I applaud any woman whose had a positive experience with her. I can't remember a single positive experience, specifically with Dr. Carlson. I will be seeking care elsewhere. read more
