Unfortunately Sixt did not honor our car seat reservation, which put us in a very stressful…read moresituation frantically searching the whole city for car seats for our children as stores were closing for a holiday. We had to dedicate several hours of our vacation to last minute frantic problem solving to make it safe for our kids to travel. We reserved the car more than a month in advance and initially went with a significantly less expensive competitor but then switched to Sixt because we could guarantee the car seat reservation in advance and not have to worry about bringing our own. But, in the end, this reservation wasn't honored. So, we spent 50% more than we would have on the car and lost several hours of our vacation to finding car seats. They also didn't honor the car class we reserved, giving us a much smaller car. Other details were fine. I do not recommend Sixt if any of your reservation details are important to you.

1. We requested a carseat but when the car was delivered the man said they didn't have one in the…read morelocal office. We were charged for a carseat that we never used. (they eventually fixed this but not our other issues) This means that we wasted an hour of our travel time with two young kids driving around town looking for somewhere to purchase a carseat that we only needed for 2 days. 2. We paid for delivery and pickup of the car. When the car was delivered on Saturday my husband asked if we were all set for the pick up on Sunday. The men who dropped it off confirmed that yes, it would be picked up on Sunday. On Sunday when we returned no one came. We called a Sixt number and spoke to someone who assured us that we would not be charged for extra days because she could see on our reservation that we had booked a pick up of the car. By Monday, the car had not been picked up so I filled out a contact form on the website explaining what had happened. I also looked on your website for a local phone number and one was not listed. We did not hear from anyone until Tuesday. I explained via email that we had not used to car since Sunday and to please not charge us. I just received my invoice and we were charged for 2 extra days. I have called and emailed the company numerous times. We were initially planning on renting a car each weekend that we are in Germany but we cannot afford to be charged double every weekend. Not only has this caused heartache but it has limited our travels. After being told to be patient while they worked on the issue. Below is the email that they just sent us. WE CALLED. WE CONTACTED THEM THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE AND THEY'RE CHARGING US DOUBLE. Beware because these are not honest people. "With Sixt you can park your vehicle at your destination and we will pick it up on request. When you no longer need your rental car, please inform us immediately and your rental agreement will end. This means that you can be flexible, even with changes in timing or if you are affected by traffic jams. For this rental, we have received no information that the vehicle is available to be collected. It is no longer possible to change the rental period."
