Review is entitled EPIC FAIL.
I have rented from Europcar before, but I am not sure what happened this time, but both the product was unsatisfactory and the service was horrible. Here is the scenario:
We made the car reservation while on vacation on line before our travel day. We received a confirmation back shortly there after and on our travel day, arrived at the airport. We found the rental location easily just outside the main terminal but upon checking in, they indicated they had no car available. I indicated we received a confirmation but did not get a message or email indicating they had a shortage on cars. At the counter, we displayed our reservation and verified we did not get a cancellation. When asking the counter what we need to do, they indicated:
"You need for find another car with someone else."
I was very surprised at the answer. I asked them if it is normal not to notify a customer a car was not available no to notify the customer if it was not available. They indicated we were notified via email no car was available and:
"You know how the internet can be."
But we still had to find a car with someone else. There was no effort, what so ever, from Europcar at this location, to refer us to some one. They did not say, this rental car agency has the car you are looking for at this price and they are waiting for you....nothing. Not even good luck.
It is rare you get service such as this, and can honestly stay I will not rent a car from this location again. Their inattention could cause a vacation to go terribly wrong, and it was obvious, they did not care about their customers situation or if they found transportation to their final destination. read more
