I started bringing my dog here to address his luxating patella. We came up with a plan to start shockwave therapy and water treadmill therapy and supplements. We've had two appointments out of the five of the package we purchased. He's much more comfortable with all the staff and treatments now. The first two shockwave treatments are done with the doctors to assess and develop a treatment plan, and the following treatments are done with a certified therapist. Everyone has been so kind to my dog that he loves coming here. And not just for the human grade cheese he's given to do the exercises!! We were also given a comprehensive List of physical therapy movements and stretches to do at home. It's too soon to tell if the treatment is working well, but we have high hopes with this clinic! It takes us about 3 hours of traffic to get to and from this clinic, but it's such a gem. They provide towels and blowdryers and snacks for the water treadmill work. We opted to not try the injection as my dog is scared of shots, who isn't really?! The doctor was so kind to provide us with a another supplement option, which we have started. They check in to see how he's doing at the start of every appointment and tailor the session to his needs. We opted to not go through insurance, but they can help out with paperwork if you do so. Dr. Bane's exam (March 2021) was comprehensive and well-beyond helpful. She noted that he had an undescended testicle (totally missed by the staff at a local corporately owned vet hospital, and by me), and spent lots of time offering much needed guidance about his diet -- including offering me a basic recipe that greatly improved upon his home-cooked meals and analyzing what vitamins and minerals should be added to make them optimal. Since I also feed him Carna4 kibble, she went over those ingredients thoroughly as well. As is common with doodles, my pup has a somewhat sensitive gut and itchy skin. When Animal Biome sent a detailed report on his microbiome, Dr. Bane spent half an hour of her own time (no charge to me) consulting with their microbiologist, and then spent lots of time (at a very reasonable cost) going over their report with me and making recommendations. She's been wonderfully accessible and thoughtful whenever I've needed guidance -- most recently about a minimally invasive approach to his cryptorchid neutering and gastropexy, and in a short time I've come to trust her completely. My 9 year old dog was neutered by Dr. Greener and at the same time had a growth on his tongue biopsied and a chronic wound on his ankle biopsied. Two hours after picking him up the tongue biopsy hemorrhaged, it was repaired the next day by another vet in the office. At the two week check up Dr. Greener debrided his ankle wound after I declined, he was pushy and convinced me it was the right thing to do. A very painful procedure and Dr. Greener did not use any local anesthesia or numbing cream. The neuter incision ended up becoming infected and I had to wait 9 hours at the ER vet for him to be seen and he was on multiple rounds of anti-biotics. Dr. Greener was not empathetic to the situation, nor did he ever apologize for the stress and discomfort he put me and my dog through AND he knew that this was the first time I had ever brought a dog in to be neutered. Overall absolute horrible experience - do not go to Healthy Pets. *Please look at photos

She was ready to explain vaccination Qs for travel (LA, valley, Tahoe. as well as planned international), grooming, micro-chipping, et al. Finally, we have a very experienced dog-trainer in our group and Dr. Araba was able to connect his expertise to her own recommendations, also bridging the gap for my own dated dog-raising history.
