The class is free for women to attend and only $10 for men who's like to attend. This gym offers all different kinds of classes for boxing, aikido, Muay Thai, and tai chi. The professors/senseis team up The first or second Saturday of the month to teach a self-defense class for women. The class is usually from 1 PM to 3 PM and consist of maneuvers and strikes. They are very informative and very patient when teaching. They don't mind going over the techniques over and over again until you are sure you get it right. You definitely feel like you were in a safe space with people who truly care about you, trying to teach you. They check in with the students to make sure that nobody is uncomfortable especially for those who have suffered an attack before. I can't say enough good things about this particular class. The only reason I have not signed up for one of their aikido classes is because the schedule doesn't work for me. You can follow them on Facebook to learn about their lady safe events, give it a shot and that will help you determine if you would like to continue coming to this gym for other classes.

I started Muay Thai a couple of months ago and the training is impeccable. Learning from the ground up I have learned so much in two months. As much as I have always wanted to learn martial arts, I have always had a love for weight lifting and this place is perfect for that as well with a free weight room and many powerlifting amenities!! The best of both worlds, a great place to sweat, work hard on yourself, and learn about the arts. This place feels super intimate and you start feeling welcomed and comfortable after a few weeks. It's like a 2nd home for me :)

It's not often I find someone who has the same passion for martial arts that I do; Coach Kakavitsas is an incredibly knowledgeable instructor who has years of real world experience in competition and practical self-defense techniques. My boys love training with him, and going to class is the highlight of their week. It's amazing how much they're already learned. I highly recommend anyone interested in learning self-defense, building confidence and getting physically fit go see him and his colleagues.

He took his time with her and had her gloved up in the ring within a matter of minutes after we did our paperwork. He demonstrated and walked her through the different hits/punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes. She had the most amazing time and cant wait to get started in classes with the other kids. She had the biggest smile on her face after she was done, and was so excited. I really appreciated JT showing her the confidence and new passion for muay thai! Hes a very knowledgeable man, personable, and incredible instructor/coach! We will be bringing our other daughter next Saturday for her one-on-one and very much anticipate a similar experience! Such an incredible experience from start to finish!

Went for the free class they offered. Super comfortable and clean environment. Absolutely loved it…read more I was wore out after class but I loved it. Instructor was knowledgeable and it was easy to learn from him. The people in the class were very welcoming and helpful. The moment I put my information on the website requesting for information they reached out maybe 30 mins to an hour later. They were very supportive in my goals and very helpful. It was a very smooth and personal process when contacted by them. The day of my class I was sent a video from one of the ladies explaining where they are located and even where to park. This made the process easy and it also helped take away any nerves or jitters that I had following up to the class. The gentlemen that I first spoke to gave me a free t-shirt and a tour of the facility. People when I say the gym is clean I mean it is clean you can tell that the owner takes pride in the cleanliness of the gym and that the employees take it very series. This is for sure one of Asheville's top facilities that house Jiu-jitsu and it shows the moment you step into the door. Better yet it shows the moment you reach out for information. With all that said ultimately I did not sign up. The reason for this is that I could not justify or afford their prices. This is also why I gave 4 stars. The gym was everything I was looking for and more but the prices were not. However I will say that it is kind of one of those "you get what you pay for" situations. I can absolutely see the price point because like I said it is for sure one of Asheville's top tier facilities. It was just not what I was ready to sign up for financially. I will add also that it has been a little less than a week after turning them down and I have not been hounded with phone calls or text. That is a good thing to me because normally gyms will not leave you alone after turning them down. I am looking to join something like this for a weight loss journey with no interest in earning any type of belt. You can tell that this gym would absolutely put you on the path to become excellent at the sport. I in no way regret going and checking it out. I do not feel as if I wasted my time. They were very professional and helpful people. I absolutely recommend at least giving it a shot and going by.
