I booked a 30 minute solo photography session at Myrtle Beach with Ethereal Studios. While I enjoyed the photography session itself and felt very comfortable with the photographer, after receiving the final product of ten edited images, I was not completely satisfied with the final images that were pre-selected for me (by the photographer) and felt these were not the images I would have preferred to pick for myself as part of the package I had already paid for. I was not offered the option to select the photos I would like to have edited. Since I already knew this would be the case before I booked the session, I was putting a lot of trust in the photographer to select these for me. After reviewing the images pre-selected and edited for me, I reached out to the photographer to ask if I could purchase just a few other images I would have preferred to keep, and which I did not have the option to select on my own in the first round of photos. The business informed me that it was not an option to select individual images for further purchase and that I would need to purchase an entire upgrade package of several images at once (which would be more than 200 dollars in my case). After explaining to the business that I really wasn't completely satisfied with all the images they had pre-selected on my behalf but would still be willing to pay for just a few others (that had not been included/edited), the business responded that this would not be an option and that if I wanted the other images, I would need to purchase a full upgrade package. I felt very disappointed with this inflexibility and got the impression that this was a money grab on the part of the business. While the photographer did pre-select for me a handful of photos I really loved, I had no choice but to settle for the few others I was not particularly happy with unless I was willing to pay quite a bit more to receive the others which I would have preferred. Don't get me wrong, this business takes quality photos and provides quality editing. However, if you would like the freedom and flexibility to select precisely the photos you want to have of yourself in the original package you pay for upfront, then this is not the right business for you. read more
