TLDR; I loved this place and dream about the signature beef Wellington…read more This place was omg mouthwatering. We stumbled into this place after a day of wandering around at the royal pavilion. It was not yet 5pm on a Wednesday evening. The guy at the bar asked if we had reservations, which we did not but they did have space to accommodate us. Now you may be wondering about the food. I can confidently say that this beef Wellington was one of the best I've ever had in my life. It takes 30 min for them to make it but it's well worth the wait. I've been to Gordon Ramsay's in Vegas. I've dined in Michelin restaurants. This was better. The filet was melt in your mouth perfect medium rare with a great wine sauce. The puff pastry and mushroom layers complimented it so well and if you can see that technique, no air bubbles between the meat and the pastry. Service was good. I'd come here again just for the beef Wellington.

Lovely setting outside under some trees. Perfect for a lazy sunny lunch…read more Food was ok. Nothing stand out unfortunately. We had the fish and chips and steak, king prawn and squid dishes. The fish and chips were average at best. The triple cooked chips were hit and miss, some perfect and others hard in the center like day old roast potatoes. The fish was slightly overcooked and the batter was ok, below average from other fish and chips we've had. The steak was cooked as ordered but again pretty average tasting, the prawns were not the freshest and the squid was delicious. Doubt we'll be back

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…read more I can't believe that I have been living in Brighton for two years and have only just discovered this restaurant. I one foul swoop it has leapfrogged its way in to my all-time top three. Yes, its a little on the expensive side, but this is certainly a case of getting what you pay for. I booked for my birthday and it was a treat in deed... On arrival, I started with a strawberry balsamic cocktail before moving onto the wine. While browsing the internet prior to making my booking I had already decided on the five course tasting menu but having perused the full menu there were dishes that just couldn't be turned down so we all decided to order from the dinner menu. We were given an amuse bouche of duck terrine, a really nice taster and a change from the usual small soup! For starter I went for the crab raviolli in crab and corriander broth - a combination of really delicate flavours. However, it was the main course that was the true champion of this meal. Trio of pork featuring pancetta wrapped loin on creamed potato - cooked very rare so that it was completely pink in the middle - I have never eaten pork like this before but it was so tender and delicious it was a delight. Pork cheek that just melted in the mouth, and pork belly, again superbly cooked. It was truely one of those dishes that has kept me smiling for days. I was a true piggy (pardon the pun) having a dessert and a cheese board - well, it was my birthday! However, I was finally beaten by the complimentary petite fours that were presented on a plate with "Happy Birthday" written across it in chocolate sauce -the waitress was kind enough to wrap these up for me to take home as I just couldn't manage another mouthful by this point! Overall, a truely exceptional fine dining experience, one I certainly hope to repeat in the not too distant future...

He had read a ton of great reviews for it and thought it would be a good treat. I chose to do 2 courses and he picked 3. What's really awesome is no matter how many you pick, they start you with an amusebouche and end with a small palette cleanser before dessert. It's like 2 free courses! The food was excellent. For starters, we had fried mackerel and the special, which happened to be pan fried scallops. That was followed up by the lamb and the sirloin, both of which were perfectly cooked. We especially both liked the purees that accompanied the meat. Finally, for dessert we shared the strawberries and clotted cream ice cream. Yum! When we arrived, there were virtually no other diners in the room, so we had amazing service (very attentive!) and our pick of tables. I'd highly recommend them and hope to go back someday!

It's got amazing views over the seafront and the food is delicious. It's definitely our favourite local, in fact the staff know us too well probably! We take everyone here! The staff are really friendly and enthusiastic, especially Matt he manager. We've taken small parties here, big parties of people and just been on date nights and it's been fantastic everytime. We even went there for New Year's Eve and loved it! There's a great range of choice when it comes to the food - all of which is delicious and served in a reasonable time. We took my husband's family there for a Sunday dinner a few weeks ago. There was 9 of us, but everyone was happy as there was so much choice - some of us had a roast, two people had a burger, and some had a persian dish - but we could have chosen from pizza, pasta and salads too. The toilets have recently had a revamp and are clean and modern. This place is always packed in the summer, and always has people in it in the winter. It's great and Matt was telling us there is a new menu coming soon which includes exotic meat burgers too - really worth coming here.

They had about 10 salads to choose from, most of which were vegan, and a bunch of mains, two of which were vegan. For the main, I got a decadent butter bean dish that was wonderfully flavoured, albeit quite oily. The salads were all quite intensely flavoured too, with a broccoli salad that had a nicely horseradish-dominant dressing, a tomato and bell pepper salad that was nicely dressed, and roasted sweet potatoes. Very filling and good value. I was really happy with the food. I capped off the meal with an American (£2.40), which was definitely above average for UK -- seems like the place is run by Italians, so that might be it. Super friendly and helpful staff who kindly pointed out everything that was vegan. All in all, highly recommended spot near the centre and beach.

Fresh, fast and tasty! This quiet and cosy restaurant had super lovely staff, and the food was just fantastic. Great little spot for lunch on North Street.

We were visiting from out of town and looking for a place that served dinner in the middle of the week. Apparently these are hard to come by in Brighton! We walked through the door and the waiter told us to wait to see if the kitchen was still serving dinner. I didn't understand why they would still be open if there is a possibility that they weren't serving dinner anymore! He came back out of the kitchen and agreed to seat us. We placed our order and then the waiter disappeared again for a while and basically didn't return until our food was ready. The food itself was pretty tasty, but it wasn't anything mind blowing. Part of the reason that people go out to dinner is for the food, but if the service is horrible, then what's the point?! Based on the service, this would not be a place that I would want to come back to.
