really nothing to write home about, especially compared to the more established maracana in rio de janeiro. reasons:
1) age: it was opened on 4/10/14, the stadium was really built just for the world cup... and obviously all future corinthian events. during the semi-final game portions of the seats were definitely add-on, and the stadium was simply just unfinished. there are unfinished pedestrian sky bridges that were covered with printed canvases to cover up the unfinished work.
2) location: in the boonies, there is a random shopping center right outside of the stadium on the opposite side of the metro station, but other than that, there's nothing else surrounding the stadium.
3) access: you can get there by car, but there's only one road in, one road out. we opted for the metro instead. it's quite a long walk from the metro as well, unlike the maracana, with the metro dropping you off right next to the stadium.
4) attractive quality: it's rectangular shaped on the outside, and overall it lacks design elements... and the stadium seats are boring and white...
5) jumbotrons: not as many compared to maracana, so if you have nosebleed seats, you're s* out of luck.
luckily we had category 1 tickets that were right on the field, but there were definitely some extreme nose bleed seats in the stadium that looked like add-on. i know it's unfair to compare the arena corinthians to the maracana stadium, but really, the arena is no where comparable to maracana. it still needs a lot of work.
good thing the amazing penalty kicks made up for the not so amazing stadium!! :) VAMOS ARGENTINA!
