I added a picture for reference. We didn't have any special requests for the new deck so it was a standard deck replacement project. Estimates: Dmitriy came out soon after we contacted Open Space Design. He had good suggestions on how to tweak the layout of the new deck to move the stairs to a better place. The estimate provided was right around what we expected to pay. We got other estimates but the other decking companies we tried didn't really listen to our requests for simplicity, and as such, their estimates were much higher. Build: It was about a month or so from estimate to build which was quick. Jose and his crew were great. From soup to nuts, I think they completed the project in about a week. The weather was typical for Seattle this time of year, sunny one minute and pouring the next, but they kept on going all day long regardless. I couldn't be happier with the look and quality of the new deck. You can tell when people are experts in their craft. If I ever need a new deck, I will be calling Dmitriy again.

Elijah walked us through the different cedar and post options, which was very helpful. When our neighbors expressed interest in having part of their fence done as well, Elijah was happy to meet with them promptly to provide a quote. Andreii was extremely communicative and kept us updated throughout the project. They completed our fence (including our neighbor's portion) in just 2.5 days. Our fence required some shrubs to be trimmed, which they handled as well for no extra cost. They did a great job cleaning up afterward. The estimate included every detail. Work began within days and was finished after two days. The workers were polite and hard working showing great patience with changes made during construction. Nothing was sloppy as even precise cuts were made where needed. Double and single gates included steel posts for extra strength. A baseboard along the entire fence keeps animals from digging under it and holds back ground where it was uneven. On top of all this the price was reasonable and competitive. He also patiently worked with us to help decide which composite to use for the staircase surface. Wasili then send us a very fair bid. After he sent us photos of other houses for which he did similar work, we accepted his bid. Wasili came out to our house the very next day, dropping supplies off and starting demo. When he did that, he also went above and beyond. He suggested two upgrades to the work he bid on, offering for free to provide am additional cross-brace and to use composite for the risers as well. Naturally we accepted the upgrades. He got the work completed in 2 1/2 days. Everyone who's seen the work has complimented it. If we have future projects, we'll reach out to Vertex first.

Josh and Jake are a two-man dynamic duo. They efficient, intelligent, very honest and polite. They totally "remade" our small, inefficient bathroom. They tore it down to the studs, moved a window to create a beautiful shower, and turned the room into a functional work of art. And they did it on budget! We hit a snag because my hubby wanted cultured marble for the shower and Josh does tile (as in our beautiful heated floor). We chose a lower bid, (our mistake) and the guys didn't know how to cut the shower window and niche properly. When Josh saw the poor quality work he got right on the phone and let them know (in no uncertain terms), their work would have to be redone! It was all fixed to our satisfaction. Jake was here when they came back to supervise. Josh and Jake do top quality work and don't put up with subcontractor folly. But they graciously bear with clients who sometimes "overreact."
