BBB has these guys rated as an A+ and believe me, it is true! They do A+ work on everything. We…read morewere also victims of a hail storm and we were unsure as to who to trust because we had been taken from another contractor. We're very very happy with using Statewide. Everyone we have spoken with are super kind to us and they take their time talking to us to make sure we understand everything that is happening. I recommend these guys for any of your work that needs to be done! Sue Ann S. Columbus, IN

I didn't want to give any stars, but yelp insists on at least one, & this is why:…read moreI am a hurricane Irene August 2011 victim in New Bern NC, & through Tom Simpson, Travis Miller, the owner of Statewide, received all monies from my insurance claim to finish restoration on my home. Mr Miller signed all the checks for paying out payroll, paying subcontractors, & paying for all the other ancillary services provided, out of the insurance money for each home that was being restored. The new roof went on in the beginning of January, the house was supposed to have been completed by the first week in April (long after the 3rd adjusted projected date of January 31, 2011. In early July, I found out that Statewide closed up shop & left town. I was never contacted by the accountant Mr. Doug Meador, or the local contractor Mr Hugh Vernelson, both of whom were still in town & associated with Statewide. In late July, Mr. Meador left Statewide, & Mr. Vernelson was the only one left who would work for Statewide & Mr. Miller. I found out that some of the contractors had not been paid, my clothing still sits at the cleaners because the balance still hadn't been paid by Mr. Miller, & my home furnishings were still sitting in a warehouse until this week, when I had to pay a mover out of pocket to retrieve my belongings. Mr Miller hadn't paid the rent on the business office or the warehouses since April this year, & the real estate management of the property made several threats to me to have everything removed or else it would either be sold in an auction, opened for anyone to take, or thrown out/dumped in the streets. In the beginning of August 2012, I repeatedly attempted to contact Mr. Miller by phone, answering service, and email with no response. It wasn't until after my mortgage company finally contacted him, stating that I still had money in Statewide & my name (the RCV check once the house was 100% finished), Mr. Miller decided that he was going to finish my house, employing the local contractor, Hugh Vernelson, to go through the "Punch List", which was only supposed to take only 2-3 weeks. A couple weeks after the work started, Mr. Miller was trying to get me to surrender the RCV check "to financially finish my house", but made no mention of getting my belongings moved back & my clothing returned to me. My brand new roof was also leaking, to which Mr Miller stated he couldn't afford to fix. Over the course of 8 weeks, Mr. Miller & Mr. Vernelson continuously tried to convince me to surrender the check. When I finally advised them that my insurance company, mortgage company & lawyer all stated not to surrender that RCV check until I was 100% satisfied with the work, & the house was inspected to get the certificate of occupancy, Mr. Miller decided to halt any further restoration until he could afford to do so. To this day, I cannot occupy my home (16 months & counting), I have made 4 long distance trips between CO & NC, my roof is still leaking causing damage to the new walls & ceilings, & my clothing is still being held until the bill is paid in full by Mr. Miller. Further more, multiple attempts have been made to contact Mr. Miller by my insurance company, my mortgage company, and myself, to provide receipts paid, who hasn't been paid, and to provide copies of the ledger specifically for the restoration of my home (which I am entitled to have as the homeowner). Tom Simpson may have done some unscrupulous things while he was the manager of the New Bern office, but Mr. Travis Miller has been the orchestrator of the whole scamming operation. The "A+" rating he still advertises on his website was revoked by the BBB in September 2012. Being a victim of hurricane Irene was a piece of cake compared to being a victim of "stormers" like Statewide & Mr. Travis Miller. I urge everyone to check out the BBB reviews on all his businesses (4 that I know about so far). He is the owner of all of them. He is solely responsible for what has happened, & continues to prey on storm victims.

I would give a 0 star review if it would allow. Horrible company. Their scheduling is a joke and…read morethey schedule things and do not honor it. They say that they "Work with your insurance company", but that is far from the truth. Instead of meeting with your adjuster and showing them the components, they just go based off of the adjusters inspection. So, therefor, all of your roofing components will not be replaced as it needs to be. They absolutely refuse to replace Step flashing, counter flashing, and apron flashing. The exact words from the General Manager, Paul Lessee, "The insurance isnt paying for it, so we arent either!" So, with that being said, instead of doing your roof the right way, they cut corners. Flashing is a HUGE part of your roof! Flashing is a safeguard against leaks around walls, chimneys, dormers! Once your roof is done, if you have any issues with it, good luck getting them to come back out to address these issues in a timely manner. Once they get their money from you and your insurance company, they fly away in the wind. PLEASE BEWARE! There are plenty of other REPUTABLE roofing companies that you can call!!! Please stay away from Jeff Home Improvements!!!!! Picture added is for proof of them wanting to "Reseal Step flashing". People, you cannot reseal step flashing. It needs replaced when the roof is replaced.
