I just moved to Grand Junction 3 months ago and was desperately looking for a nice salon. This place is wonderful! Kacee washed, cut, and styled my hair to perfection. I have very long hair and hadn't really had a "style" in a while and was considering bangs....she talked me into taking 'baby steps' towards bangs, and gave me gorgeous layers at the front (and actually throughout) that look awesome. Kacee also gave an ah-mazing scalp massage...to me this is the difference between a Cost Cutters and a real salon, and what makes getting a slightly more expensive hair cut worth it. The ambiance of the salon is great too, and I was immediately offered a beverage (coffee, water, etc) when I walked in. It's also clean and decorated very nicely and fits the 'downtown' feel. The overall service was great too...I waited about 1-2 minutes before Kacee came and got me, and waited about the same to check out. It's moderately priced as well, $30ish for a hair cut, which to me is completely worth it to get a good one. I don't get my hair colored, so I have no opinion on color. I would highly recommend this salon for your hair cutting needs. I would also recommend making an appointment so you don't have to wait, it was pretty busy (however, it was a Saturday). I can't wait to go back in 3-4 months. :) -Rachel read more

TERRIBLE experience!! I was seen by Jackie who charged me $500 for a choppy haircut and a horrendous multicolored hair color that was nothing close to what I was looking for! I just had a baby a few months ago and was looking to do something nice for myself. Having had a friendly experience with Jackie in the past, I trusted she would be honest with me if what I was hoping to achieve with my hair was achievable with her skill set or not. I also trusted she would give me a decent price since I was a loyal customer. However, I received no such treatment. When I confronted Jackie about the hair color not being what I asked for, she said that it's not finished but I would need to come back in at least a month to try this again. I thought that her $500 charge would be somewhat reasonable, (even though I'd never paid that much for my hair before for a cut and color) for a finish result. However, Jackie informed me that I would still need to pay again to get it finished. I told her that I had never been charged this much before, especially for an unfinished hairdo. She then told me that "this hair stuff is not for sissies, she is not a budget hairdresser, and that she stands by her work." If you're looking to avoid being overcharged for a horrendous color and cut then, Do Not COME to Estilos on main!! read more

I've been a client at Estilos for over 25 years. Both Jeanine, Terry and Shelley have taken care of my haircuts, color, and esthetician needs during that time They are wonderful..always open to ideas and suggestions..accommodating when appointments needed to be changed. The very best salon in GJ read more

I had my first visit with Sara last night, I am 100% happy and highly recommend her and the salon in general. Everyone was extremely friendly. The salon was clean and has a modern interior. My hair is long, thick, coarse and there is a ton of it. Sara gave me the best haircut I've had in years and more importantly, I left last night feeling good about myself. I will definitely be returning. Thank you Sara, you are a Godsend! read more

10 years. That's how long I have had gorgeous hair colors and cuts from Jeanine. And I rank right up there with the most nervous of ladies to have their hair worked on. Shout out of thanks for healthy, everyone-compliments-me hair! read more

Appalled! Terrible! I sat next to a woman that was having her hair cut by a different stylist, who despite to request of the woman to stop, kept ranting about Ukraine being an awful country and defending Putin. She was raging about QAnon conspiracy theories and at one point berated her customer as a "bleeding" liberal. The customer was attempting to politely ask her to stop and left with wet hair declining a blowout/style. I won't return. I don't want to go somewhere and pay for a service and be subjected to someone else's political views and rants. You are in a service industry! You just cost the industry and your shop my business...and I suspect and hope the business of the poor woman who was having to listen to the tirade. :( read more

Jackie needs to learn how to listen to her customers, she does not retain the information necessary to perform her customers request properly. this was by FAR THE WORST HAIR CUT I EVER GOT, I made an appointment to get hair color and some texturizing no cut because I was growing out my hair. she said ok, I thought she understood, but she got her hair clipper and stared to shave my hair pretty much. I asked her 3 times that I was nervous about what she was doing, as I was afraid to look my self on the mirror. I was in shocked when I saw my head, and she kept telling me trying to make me feel better how beautiful my hair looked. so I got out of the place with no hair color and the most horrific hair cut I ever had. read more

Though my experience wasn't a total disaster, it took me several days to become accustomed to my new, very expensive, cut and color. I felt Jackie really didn't listen to my requests. An 'inch' cut off my hair, ended up being a considerable amount more, and then she decided to add layers without asking, causing added stress. All of which resulted in my overall experience being way over priced. I will not be recommending, or returning to this salon, looking forward to my hair growing out! read more

I got my hair done with Leticia who is an absolute pro at getting people blonde! She was patient with me and explained every step of the way what she was putting in my hair and why. She made fun conversation but also allowed for me to ask her questions about my hair along the way. The salon itself is beautiful and elegant. I did pay more than double what I used to pay to get highlIghts but my hair is also no longer breaking read more

Don't go to Estilos! People will tell you it's one of the best places in town and it has a reputation for being posh but the owner has terrible customer service and actually told me in the middle of my $50 haircut that she wasn't going to cut it anymore when I asked her to frame it around my face a little bit more and make my layers more pronounced. I hadn't even asked her before that to change anything! I just showed her a picture, she barely glanced at it, and then when she asked how I liked it, I asked for her to shorten my layers a little bit and make the framing a little more pronounced. She actually scolded me and told me she had already trimmed my hair before she washed it, trimmed it during washing it, and trimmed it when she was styling it (HER technique; I've never had anyone else do that before and didn't ask her to do it that way) and said she wasn't going to give me a "fourth haircut" by making my layers more pronounced. I had to go somewhere else and pay for someone to do more pronounced layers. I'll never recommend Estilos! read more

Jacquie Gunderson gave me the best haircut I've ever had. I have received numerous compliments on the quality of my cut. I'm extremely happy with my experience here. read more

This salon is going down hill. I have been coming here for 5 years and the last few visits were pathetic. $140 for an ok highlight and a cost cutters hair cut. When I got home after my appointment my husband told me my hair was uneven in the back. This is from a man who has never noticed a thing about my hair. During my haircut, the client in the next chair was smoking an electronic cigarette and blowing it all over the place. What happened to the clean, pure Aveda concept? This place is getting tacky and the quality of cuts is going down. Bummer. read more

Amazing place with super friendly and very knowledgeable staff! I drive down from Denver for a friends appointment and thought I would try to get my haircut while I waited. They were able to squeeze me in last minute, and Leticia gave me the best haircut I've had in years. She was super sweet and told me every product she was using, but didn't try to sell me on anything. I would definitely return! I highly recommend her and this salon! read more

I have been going to this salon for over a year now and love my stylist! The atmosphere is wonderful and am always offered coffee, water, etc when I go in. Would recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a great place to get their hair done! read more

I will never go back to this salon. I asked my stylist for a long bob and showed pictures. I told her I wanted an inch off the front of my hair, max. She agreed to this and repeatedly checked with me 3 times to make sure that was the length I wanted my hair cut to. She continued to cut 5+ inches off my hair, my hair is now above my shoulders. I do not understand why stylists decide to do whatever they want when you ask for something totally different. I should have refused to pay when I was in the salon. Ridiculous. read more

I went to get highlights, a cut, and products. They were out of the one I needed most because 'it's the main store and we sell alot'. Here's an idea-order more. The highlights were okay, just okay. The stylist seemed tightly wound. I told her what I wanted and she did what she wanted. At Aveda's in other towns they used a lot more foils than here, about a $30 loss to the salon that I was willing and able to pay for. I wanted the 'dry' deep conditioning treatment because I like the smell, the stylist again wanted to do something else, so another $30 loss I was willing to pay for. In total I spent a good $100 less than I had intended to. read more

A couple of family members get their hair done here and they recommended a specific stylist to see. I had to schedule 2 weeks out and was given a reminder call which I confirmed. I showed up the next day to be told my stylist was already booked for my time. I tried telling them it was MY appt & they didn't listen & pawned me off on a stylist who wasn't busy. Halfway through my color MY original appointed stylist was wondering where her next customer was. No apologies & nobody asked to schedule a follow up. In fact the checkout girl didn't even make eye contact thru the whole process!! read more

Sara is fantastic especially when it comes to men's cuts. She does a awesome fade and has real attention to detail. I have been going to her since January and never a bad cut. I would recommend her to anybody. read more

DON'T GO!! I had the same experience that Chrissie L. did. I went in to have a partial highlight. This was my first time and thought I would go slowly and see how it goes. It was the worst, most unprofessional service that I have ever had from a salon. I had some level of trust because of their Aveda product line and I was concerned about the condition of my hair having treated it for many years. I came out a few hours later with RED HAIR! No resemblence to the color I went in with! There are no highlights which is the service that I requested. After taking a good look after leaving the salon, I called back to talk to the owner. I have yet to receive a return call or explanation. DON'T GO!!!!! The level of experience is appalling. read more

I moved to Grand Junction over the summer from the east coast. I regularly have my hair cut and colored by a professional every month. Naturally I was looking for a high end salon where I can establish a long term relationship with a qualified hairdresser. In fact, my entire family went to Estilos for their hair. While the atmosphere is pleasant, their hair talent is absolutely horrendous. This is supposed to be an Aveda approved salon. Granted, it is Grand Junction- noone with with any style wants to be here- but this salon was supposed to meet certain criteria. My hair, done by Jen ( a stylist of 10 years) is fried beyond recognition. She was a nice enough person but had no idea how to cut or color hair. Color was repeatedly glopped all over my head- no rhyme or reason - and she chopped at my head so that my supposed asymetrical haircut had pieces cut up above my left ear and other pieces below my chin. In fact I always felt like she was rushing and wanted to get out of the salon. Fortunately, we relocated to San Francisco after several months in GJ, and I am now having my hair repaired at another Aveda salon. My new stylist Amanda said that Estlios was a disgrace to Aveda, I should complain to corporate because my hair is ruined and will take months to repair. The cost so far? $600.00 and I've only been here two months. I am a professional and need my hair to look professional. My advice- go anywhere else but here . Frankly there is nothing in Grand Junction but don't pay $200+ to have your hair destroyed. I should have gone to Cost Cutters and had it ruined. read more

Called and was quoted $60.00 to fix what was going on, thus made appointment. I had multiple pictures of same hairstyle that included 360 view of quest. The place is great ambiance and seemingly high end, but the result is definitely nothing close to high end or professional. I left 3 hours later a little upset, but wanted to get home and ask for wisdom on situation. I had to pay over 200.00 and add 55.00 in product to that number then spent the holidays with my hair looking like I experimented myself. I communicated clearly the issue and was handed the reasons why she did what she did. This went on for over a week and It was obvious there needed to be a fix to the situation yet I was told to schedule an appointment with her or another hairstylist because it had been 2 weeks and I was due for touch up and would have to pay full price ! lol...wow. Astounded at the lack of integrity. I called requesting to talk to an owner and never received a call back...so now the review is this. My favorite statements about my hair after it was done were: 'It looks like the grudge fingers coming out '.... '.it looks like you have 2 different wigs and 2 different cuts on top of each other ', "You couldn't make up your mind which color to use" ? It was supposed to be like Fergie's.....dark 'UNDER' the light color not hanging out 5 inches from a jagged blonde color. The roots were supposed to be dark and mine were bleached... lol.....seriously how do you take a picture and end up with this mess...get charged over 200.00 and then told to pay more to fix it?? AND what 'haircut' happened....it is nowhere near the shape of that cut !!?? It looks awful.....if this is the haircut service offered there....run !! I had to laugh when my hair was not in the line up of hair being shown off on her site......of course it would not be shown ! I remember her telling me often "I got you"....yep....she sure did ! read more

I recently relocated from Chicago to Grand Junction because of my husband's job. I am accustomed to getting my hair cut and highlighted every couple of months at an Aveda salon in downtown Chicago. I thought I would try Estilos because of their connection to Aveda. The salon has more of an upscale atmosphere than most salons in the area, but I was terribly disappointed with my results. The stylist (Lindsey O.) at Estilos was friendly but seemed to be quite inexperienced. Unfortunately, my requested golden highlights turned out very orange looking and the cut was altogether too choppy, too short, and much too outdated for my style. I would not consider this salon to be "fashion forward" at all. Maybe I have been spoiled by all the talent in Chicago or maybe I just got the wrong stylist at Estilos. Needless to say, I booked an appointment for a color correction and cut at a Denver salon that I absolutely fell in love with. Thank you Lacey at Lucky Lu's! read more
