The overall quality of care appears poor, from the management team down to the nursing staff. It's heartbreaking that families with limited financial options may feel pressured to settle for an unsafe or neglectful environment simply because other options seem unattainable. When issues are reported, the problems tend ta persist for about a week before the level of service returns to a consistently low standard, Additionally, when my loved one reports an issue, the facility attempts to dismiss or deny it, making it seem as though he doesn't know what he's talking about or that the allegations aren't true. I have witnessed these concerns firsthand. f you must use this facility, please check in on your family member reaularly and believe them when they report problems Your firsthand verification is essential ta ensure their safety and well-being.

He had been in two other nursing facilities and Golden Acres was by far the best. He was always clean, there was no odor anywhere and there was always someone looking after him. I felt very comfortable knowing that he was so well taken care of. Even though the building might be older, it is clean and it is the care that the residents get that matter. The rest of the staff from admissions, reception, finance department were always so pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend Golden Acres. Toni A.

Although she is VERY happy with all aspects of where she lives (residence, food, activities, maintenance, technology help, classes, field trips) she wanted me to put up a review about a few special people who not only do their job with skill, but also caring and grace. A big high five to Daniela Mora in Conley restaurant. She knows everyone by name and greets all with a big smile - she seems to keep the restaurant running like a top (as least as far as residents can see!) and the food is always served hot and well-presented. Mom thinks she is the best she's the best Conley has every had! Dani is kind and patient and helps everyone! Second is Brandon in IT (I don't know his last name - sorry). Talk about a problem solver! No question is too hard or too simple. Brandon stays with a problem until he figures it out for you. Last is Kevin Nelson - the porter at the Point. Kevin magically makes every event, class, discussion group seem to be set up and taken down with just the right room arrangement in incredibly timely manner. It's amazing how many different "take downs and put ups" he does in one day. He is friendly and always speaks to everyone. He keeps everything clean and fresh - including the gym and class rooms. Mom thinks he's a gem. These are just a few of the amazing people who make CC Young work so well - In my mom's eyes, it's a great place to live and from the outside - I definitely agree!

This is a review of an "assisted living / retirement home"…read more The "Tradition - Lovers Lane Assisted Living" is a great place to check out if you're looking for assisted living. One of my overall highlights is on the top floor, the fourth floor is where they are dedicated to work with folks that have difficulty in memory, like alzheimer's or dementia. It's sad issue to deal with, but hopefully with a little hope and love, the right place can at least help. Now a person can live on the bottom three floors and go up to the fourth floor for sessions or to join in on with the groups. Great transition management systems are in place here at the Tradition. Heck, if and when I do have problems in this area, the Tradition is a great place to check out! "Tradition" also has another section for non-assisted living, both which are very nice! So they cater to both folks that need help and do not assistance. They are right next door to each other and in a great location of Dallas. Being right next door to Central Market and close by to highway 75 makes it easy to get to other parts of Dallas at certain times of the day. Dallas traffic can be an odd, you just have to know when and how to drive in the traffic. Back to the "Tradition assisted living", It's new, well located and I love the floor plan. It is easy for folks to make it back to their room. The building design is nice, in that a person is not going to get lost that easy at all. From the rooms, hall ways, exercise rooms, and special rooms are really good looking. The rooms have a high tech / heat monitor system and learns a heat monitor body system. Let's say your grandmother gets up at 4 in the morning to go to the restroom, it can detect if shoe has fallen and can not get up and alerts the staff on duty. We past by where they served meals and you could smell in the air that the food was very tasty! There are several elevators in the building, and it seems very easy for a person to make it to and from location to location. They have a water suspension work out are that looks very cool. They also have a number of highlights as well, like their hair/mani/pedi office, snack area, libraries, worship area. We received such kind introductions to the staff. The fourth floor, at least I thought I would be scared about, but it was so damn cool, a number of rooms that are to help enhance the creative side of the mind. A fun back porch with a fun view, hell, if I go, send me here! The "Tradition ~ Assisted Living" is a place I would totally feel comfortable with and recommend! If you are reading this review, do go by and check it out, and know it may be tough, but finding the right place will ease you heart and mind beyond belief. I only wish you and yours the best in life, Bill

A revolving door in terms of staffing....no continuity of care. No medical care to speak of....one doctor was under indictment and the other was apparently let go also. A Tradition employee stole my dad's car but luckily we recovered it after he had his way with it. No good programs and mediocre food. Could have been a dream...turned into a nightmare. If you need only minimal care and want to squander money, this is great for you. If you have more significant needs, go to a place with a better track record. Run, don't walk away from The Tradition.

The facilities are great. The residents rooms and bathrooms are private and spacious with high quality buildouts. The food is good. I've noticed generally high quality, tasty food getting served. The staff means well. I don't doubt the sincerity of the staff wanting to help improve the quality of life of the residents whether that mean providing activities in the common areas, get them medical care when needed, speak to them encouragingly when they need to be re-guided. The issues I ran into require a little bit of context. My father is averse to getting help on showers. The PVN nurse suggested we look into getting some meds to help on shower days and get some external extra help to provide showers for him. While I wasn't happy to pay for extra help, given the high cost of PVN I thought the request was presented in a professional manner. The issues come in with a lack of professional approach to medical management and follow-up. I consider these issues significant enough to ding PVN down to 2 stars. My father's doctor agreed that some medicines could help make shower days a little easier and that it was important for him to stay clean on a regular basis. The problem is that now, despite this being the PVN staff's idea, they are unable to get the medicines to my dad on the morning's of the shower days. They have missed this 3 out of the last 4 shower days, which then makes the task of giving showers a monumental task. It would seem that this would be easy to address given that they claim to give him his other medicines, but the one medicine that was introduced - effectively at their request - is something they seem unable or unwilling to give him. I have called numerous times and can get an answer about 50% of the time. I have sent 4 emails on this topic to the Head Nurse & her assistant and have a 0% response rate thus far. In my mind this boils down to poor leadership. I have no way of communicating with the senior leaders of PVN to get these issues addressed. The nurses ignore my emails, and worse, deny my father the access to medicines that will improve his and his fellow residents quality of life. it is my belief that PVN needs to fundamentally transform the culture and leadership of their organization. They are currently falling far short of their mission.
