We took the tram from Mercado Alicante to Benidorm. The latter has gained a terrible reputation for being a destination for lager fuelled tattooed Brits. I'm sure they are delightful people just misunderstood.
Anyway I think the return journey which was spectacular in places as it hugged some beautiful coastline was just over £4 return. It was efficient each way, clean and uncomfortable as it was overcrowded. Thankfully the air con was effective so much so it was quite cold.
It took over an hour and stopped in maybe a dozen places en route.
We arrived in Benidorm station once through the, place your ticket, electronic barrier to form a disorderly uncomfortable queue for the one toilet per gender M and F rest rooms. Phew.
All in all a grand day out but glad it was a day trip to Benidorm rather one from there to Alicante. But not a sign of a drunk or lager lout of any hue. Phew too. read more
