The guy was very understanding, I explained I had come all the way from sandymount because theirs are the lowest priced for miles (and they are), I promised I'd be back within the hour. he believed me, didn't accept my offer of holding my son hostage, which was jolly decent really. ...and yes, I did come back any pay, yea of little faith.

The recession has led to much lowering of standards. I had bookclub, I was broke, I needed booze. The 7.50 bottle of Pur Secco (made in Germany from grapes obtained in Italy) was in my price range. It was surprisingly drinkable!

This racial bias is extremely unacceptable for a healthy business relationship. I hope Applegreen considers this matter seriously and train staff to be hospitable and polite. It has a wide selection of freshly baked goods, doughnuts, sandwiches, tarts, you name it. Coffee is great, most creamy latte I've had in a while, and a large tea collection including a Puerh teabag. Wonders! I got the blueberry and custard tartlette, biggest sugar rush ever! This cafe is inviting to sit and watch the world go by Stillorgan Road. Sofas, high seats and plenty of plugs for the ole laptop. Good to go!

I blissfully whizz past the maxol at the end of my estate, I practically vault past the Esso on beach road and on to that veritable bastion of all things nice and lovely... the new Applegreen on the N11. The shop is huge and the staff friendly, they have a really nice café in there and a hot deli counter that just screams "relax, have a coffee, maybe try one of these oh so delicious breakfast rolls or perhaps just a warm buttery croissant. There is the usual array of services outside as well.. a carwash, air, water yada yada yada but its all about the inside for me. Theres no tesco, Tim Horton's or supervalu in the ajdoining shop except for a small store with the basics. They don't even have a coffee machine, shock horror!Late shopper across the road does though. Simple, cheap and reliable. The only downside to this place is of course its a victim of it's own success and its fairly small so expect to be waiting for a pump, beside a taxi most likely.
This filling station is gas (sorry couldn't help myself). It has a relatively small and oddly…read moreshaped forecourt, but yet the drivers come in their droves to fill up here. The price of fuel here per litre is always the best in the area. Why three stars? Their price of solid fuel is obscene. 4.99 EUR for a bale of briquettes. No thanks. Also, the forecourt makes for a lot of waiting in line, as there is really no room to go around anyone that might be in front of you. So as a result you may not actually get onto the premises and you'd have to keep driving. But if you can get onto the forecourt and you have the time to wait, then fill her up!
