Title: Disappointing Experience at the Essentials Store, Tropicana Laughlin
As a recent visitor to the Tropicana Laughlin casino in Arizona, I had the opportunity to explore the Essentials Store located within the premises. However, my experience at this store left much to be desired, prompting me to share a detailed review of my encounter.
Upon entering the store, I was initially impressed by the wide range of items available, including gifts, food, drinks, and quick convenience items. However, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment as I interacted with one of the cashiers, whose attitude and response left me feeling offended and marginalized.
Despite being one of the few patrons in the store, I couldn't shake the feeling of being followed and scrutinized, a discomfort that intensified as I engaged with the clerk. As a black woman in a predominantly Caucasian area, I am keenly aware of prejudice remarks, and unfortunately, the cashier's response to my simple query confirmed my suspicions.
When I inquired about the price of a particular item, the clerk's response was not only dismissive but also seemingly tinged with racial undertones. Rather than providing a straightforward answer, she remarked that the item was "extremely expensive," accompanied by an unnecessary apology. This response not only failed to address my question but also insinuated assumptions about my financial status based on my skin color.
Despite my intention to make a purchase, the cashier's attitude and remarks completely deterred me from doing so. Feeling unsettled by the encounter, I decided to address the issue with a manager the following morning. While the manager offered an apology and reassurance that the matter would be addressed, the underlying discomfort and sense of discrimination lingered.
In conclusion, my experience at the Essentials Store in Tropicana Laughlin was marred by poor customer service and insensitivity. While the store offers a variety of products, the unprofessional behavior of the staff, coupled with the unwelcome racial undertones, overshadowed any potential positives. As a black woman, I felt compelled to share my experience, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and respect in every customer interaction. read more
