Though it doesn't exactly fit the typical "dive" bar stereotype because it is right in the heart of the Gaertnerplatz area (thus making it insanely crowded on a Saturday night), if you come here on a Sunday you will get the same hole-in-the-wall rockbar atmosphere, but slightly less loud. You also won't find yourself sitting alone at the bar either....I think about 15 others were there. Not bad for Sunday at 10pm :D If a cocktail is what you're looking for, I'm sure the bartenders can make it for you, but you might fare better at one of the cocktail places down the road. However, if it's beer, shots, or straight liquor you want then Holy Home is the place for you. Just don't drink too much or you might find yourself staring at the wall of knick knacks behind the bar hahah I'm going again Thursday this week, so it'll be interesting to see how a weekday evening compares to the weekends! They have a happy hour till about 8pm most evenings and a huge cocktail list but most of what we tried was fairly ordinary. I had an Old Fashioned and a Caipirinha and both tasted a bit odd and served in glasses I would not expect for either of them. Service is ok and people do reserve for late evening drinks so expect that after 8pm you will probably need a reservation over the weekend. I wouldn't rush back here but due to the shortage of late night bars in Munich I will probably end up here again ;-)

My first course of oysters naturale was the best oysters to date in Munich. The main course of entrecôte beef with a mustard sauce was cooked to perfection and, full of flavour. The wine we chose was exceptionally good for a very reasonable price. The chocolate mousse for dessert made from Valhorna chocolate was amazing and, I tasted the chocolate fondant which was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely divine. Only a minor point but, the service was a little bit slow at times and our excellent hostess made up for it with her patience in explaining the menu and checking up on us regularly. I thought I was in a michelin starred restaurant in Paris for a while ;-)) As it turns out the chef has worked in many well know starred restaurants and this was clearly seen in the food. The flavours were intense and the food was well seasoned. I did not need to add a thing to the meal :-) Glad I went here again, as the experience was phenomenal and I loved it :-) Will most definitely be back here again :-)))
