They offer good food like salads, curries, sandwiches & wraps, fresh juices, smoothies and shakes, good coffee and some pastry like muffins and lemon cake. Some of the food is prepared fresh, some is ready to eat. They try to follow some slow food principles like using local & seasonal products. In my opinion they should also use more organic products. I tried a curry and I think it could have been a little spicier. There is a little spice bar so you can add some if you want. The muffin and coffee I had was good. I absolutely recommend the smoothies and shakes, they where delicious! This is the only Dean&David store in Bremen. I like the interior, its bright, clean an simple design. In summer they also provide for outside sitting. The service has always been friendly to me, and most of the times I was being served very quick. Since some of the food is prepared fresh and the store seems to be understaffed sometimes, I had to wait a little longer to place my order on one or two occasions. Especially around noon it can get a little crowded.

The owner (a chatty older Greek man) told us (in German) that he was full but we could go across the street to a café for free cappuccinos on the house. After maybe 5 minutes at the quaint café, we the man came and got us, and also got us some shots of Italian liquor at the café on the house. He led us over across the street back the the restaurant and our party of two was seated in a spacious booth. He sat at our booth and chatted with us and made us feel like family. He brought us some MORE shots and then we placed our orders and immediately the most delicious freshly baked bread and feta dip was brought out, gratis. We ordered the Rhodos platter for 2. Our massive and gorgeous salad came out first. We were actually full already from the salad and bread by the time the HUGE platter of mixed meats and rice came out. We indulged in the most delicious lamb I have ever eaten in my life. After we stuffed ourselves, he came and chatted again as I asked for the bill. The check was brought, but not before even MORE shots and FREE ICE CREAM! The generosity of this restaurant is unmatched. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Olympisches Feuer to anyone I know. That's right, you can have your schnitzel prepared in nine distinctly different ways. My choice was the Zigeunerschnitzel (14.50 Euros), because it has such an interesting sauce: Bell pepper (red and yellow), onion, garlic, tomato and spices. Oh my! And it also came with a nice green salad with a tasty house vinaigrette. A bit too much dressing was applied to my salad, but it was good nonetheless. No croutons, but the tomato wedges and lettuce were very fresh. The very generous cut of pork was nicely breaded and fried, but disappointingly tough to cut with the butter knives provided (although with a serrated edge). The taste was there, definitely there. And so were delicious potato croquettes, my preferred alternative to mashed or french fried. Our server generously brought out an extra bowl of hot croquettes, which disappeared "schnell". The salads appeared 10 minutes after the server took our orders, and the entrees came, steaming hot, about 12 minutes later. Dang, those Germans sure are efficient ! My choice of beer was the Franziskaner (3.50 Euros), and it was cold and excellent. Incidentally, this restaurant presents a nice, intimate and quiet setting for people who appreciate such things. It looked like the reviews were good from both tourists and locals alike, so I figured we should check it out. My German half-brother-in-law and I both ordered the Schnitzel, and he actually said it was very well done and one of the best ones he's ever had, which I think says a lot!! My husband got the pork knuckle which was really just way too much food, but he enjoyed it thoroughly. The servers were very kind and helpful, and although we sat outside because the weather was nice and there was no air-conditioning indoors, I got to walk through the restaurant to access the salad bar and was surprised to see how nicely decorated it was inside. I definitely considered coming back for a second day in a row and definitely would have if we had stayed for longer!

There were five of us and we all got something different. We shared among the group and there were no disappointments. Great schnitzel, delicious currywurst, a very interesting and yummy German meatloaf and the best spaetzl I've ever had. We enjoyed it enough we went back the next night. Our waitresses were great! My tasty German soda did have a hidden message for me.
