I get so much more time with my daughter now and it's all thanks to her. She has never pressured me one way or another, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for her mastery of the craft. I will be recommending her services to anyone who will listen.

Kim became frustrated with me wanting answers to questions I had about my case and refused to return my calls in a timely manner. Sometimes it would take her over a week to call me back even after I left many messages for her. I was paying her $250 an hour and I gave her $2500 retainer. I'm pretty sure I deserved her attention or at least for her to answer my calls and discuss my concerns with me. When she did finally call me back she was short and very condescending towards me. Very unprofessional. Kim did not do what she told me she was going to do in court and she really didn't stand up for me at all. She mostly made agreements with the other attorney and judge without me having any input at all and she seemed too busy and rushed after hearings to bother explaining to me what happened. I told her I was unhappy with the information I had been receiving from her and with her level of communication. Kim then sent me an email telling me she decided to quit representing, me mid-case. UNREAL!!!! This case is about me protecting my son from a violent addict and repeat domestic violence and assault offender and Kim decided to leave me on my own knowing I could not afford to get started with another attorney. I basically begged her to stay with me and she refused. Kim is a smart and a capable attorney. If Kim wouldn't let her personal feelings about me get in the way (this should be about protecting a beautiful 6 year old boy) and if she actually cared about me as client who is desperately concerned for my son's safety she would have been a great attorney. THIS IS A SHAME!!!! Very unprofessional and Im very disappointed.

Three years after my…read moredivorce settlement, my ex-husband poked holes in our maintenance agreement, and I emailed Ms. Skaggs with a simple question. I understood I would have to compensate her for advice. However, her advice was to make an appointment. For that, I received a bill for $37.00. I find it appalling that she billed me to read an email. Not only did the agreement she negotiated for me fall apart, costing me tens of thousands of dollars, but she charged me $37 for zero services. I would not, and did not, retain this attorney again.

She made me feel very hopeful I could get the help I needed, and she said I would get a call back soon. Next, I received a call from attorney, Emily Pinerola Lancaster, and she asked me to email her certain documents. Emily said once she received them she would contact me back to let me know what to expect next. That never happened. I called her office several times and left voicemail messages for her only to be ignored. I called her Director, John Young, and let him know that I had not heard from Emily but was once again ignored. Then months later, I get a letter in the mail from Emily stating if she did not hear back from me by a certain date she was closing my file. What? I then called her manager, Jeff Brown, and once again left a voicemail message only to be ignored. These people do not care about you. They get your hopes up when you truly need it, when you are in desperate need for help only to completely ignore you. Why couldn't they have given me the curtesy of telling me they were not willing to help me? Any response would have been appreciated.

I hired IG Spencer years ago to sue my divorce attorneys for failure to account for over a hundred…read morethousand dollars in taxes on marital property, a catastrophic medical malpractice suit and pending KY Board of Medical Licensure suspension which would cost me millions. The defendant attorneys clearly had botched the case, and then suddenly at trial misled me into settling, knowing once the case was settled, they were off the hook. Specially appointed Louisville Judge William Harris opined that the attorneys were negligent, but then abused summary judgment in violation of the State Supreme Court ruling Steelvest vs Scansteel, 1991, and stated that since I had settled on the advice of my attorneys, my losses were non-material/ and speculative and relied on Mitchell v Transamerica, an older case from a lower court in 1977. Problem is, IG was the one who committed yet additional malpractice when he suddenly bailed on my case, and then indicated in his letter that I had 30 days to file an appeal. WRONG! It was 20 days, and my belated appeals died in the KY Supreme Court. This was final act in a stream of legal malpractice and incompetence, starting with my divorce attorneys in Elizabethtown, then my med mal defense attorney, a zealot Medical Board attorney and hearing officer who violated the most basic charge in medical malpractice- that of holding a doctor to the standards that were outside his own specialty. I can no longer practice, but it appears that all of my attorneys, with the exception of William Guethline and Harold Huddleston, both deceased, are still practicing. Read about it all in my memoirs.
