Visited today (29/12/23) with my husband and 2 children (5yr old & 20mths)
We used to love calling in here when in Navan Shopping Centre. The previous manager was an absolute gentleman who always (no matter how busy,) took time to welcome you and check on us during our visit, always had a pleasant word for my son.
The current manager is very rude. He's changed the way you order. The manager takes the orders and seats customers doubling the wait time. (everyone is entitled to try a new system, BUT this one doesn't work.) You're waiting longer to order.
We ordered a Full Irish Breakfast, Portion of pancakes with Nuttella, Toast and Jam (for 5yr old) (nothing on menu suitable for 20mth old, something as simple as a yoghurt would have done her), a btl of Fanta and 2 teas for a grand total of €30.70.
The pancakes were advised on the menu as served with fresh fruit and cream, the Nutella was an extra €2. (There was no fruit or cream and the Nutella was so hard it was hard to spread on pancakes without tearing them up) Cost €9.35.
The only bread option was sourdough or homemade brown, for the toast. What 5 yr old likes sourdough? (Plain Brennan's bread would be better)
The Full Irish Breakfast price (€11.55) didn't include tea or coffee. What coffee shop/cafe doesn't include tea or coffee when having a breakfast? The pancakes arrived well before the toast and the pre cooked breakfast.
As we were leaving my husband decided to approach the manager to enquire about the prices and was told that no breakfast includes tea or coffee. In reference to the pancakes a reply of "ah well". No apology or even an "I'll look in to it". When my husband said about the delay in getting seated he just said "we're busy" to which my husband replied that previously it was always busy but never with a wait as long as we had today, due to his new system of insting on taking the orders instead of allowing us to queue at counter as previously. This statement was met with a grunt.
The current management don't seem to care about the customers as long as the money is coming in. read more
