My first time here was for a Yelp event, and then I returned with another friend to see Matt Bianco. This place is just incredibly comfortable. Great views everywhere thanks to the raised outer circle, and far more seating than I've ever seen in a venue with a dancefloor. Lots of small and large booths to accommodate your group, no matter how many people you came with. The raised area is lined with a bar and lots of bar stools, so you can sit down comfortably, set down your beer to applaud, and enjoy a perfect view of the stage, while those behind you can easily see the stage over your shoulders. Really well designed. The acoustics here are extraordinary too. I do wish they'd have some more popular acts, or, you know, ones I actually know (the current events schedule didn't have any names I recognized). I would jump on the chance to see Bruno Mars or James Morrison here again! However, I would definitely make an effort to find a reason or an event to come back to Under the Bridge. My friend felt the same way. Just something very welcoming and comfortable about this place.

Once they opened the concert space, they let the rest of the people who were outside waiting, in the venue. We immediately went to the bar and ordered some wine. We hung out there a while while we waited for the show to start. It was comfortable and a nice place to wait. The show space is very unique and had amazing sound. Even though we went in to the show space later, we could still see the stage really well. The Amazons were awesome and I'd definitely return to this venue.

FOOD We turned up to the venue hungry and there was food! And by food I don't mean dirty water hot dogs but rather, nachos, burgers, peri peri chicken sandwiches and even a portobello and goat cheese sandwich (all of which were grilled to order on a BBQ.) OUTDOOR TERRACE Better still, we were able to consume said food outside, with beer. A concert venue with a terrace? Two words: hell yes! SCREENS The camera work during the concert was excellent and beamed up on two large screens which helped me to feel almost as if I were on the stage. ACOUSTICS You'll definitely get awesome aural at Roundhouse! SEATING I know, I know, all the kids are on the floor spilling drinks all over one another, jumping up and down, swapping spit and whatnot, but at this point in my life it is terrific to be able to take in a show from a seat with an incredible view! Now, if only I knew someone with an extra VIP pass to: The xx on 12 July and Florence + The Machine on 13 July Le sigh, a girl can dream...

The Crawdaddy Club, which started towards the end of 1962, was the idea of Giorgio Gomelsky, filmmaker and blues enthusiast. His first resident group was the Dave Hunt R & B Band, which briefly featured Ray Davies who later formed The Kinks. In February 1963, the Rolling Stones played their first gig at the Crawdaddy Club, at the Station Hotel Richmond for a fee of £1 each, plus a share of the door. The Crawdaddy Club used to be here as part of the Station Hotel, and was the London equivalent of Liverpool's Cavern Club. The Rolling Stones were the house band at the Crawdaddy, and the Beatles first heard them play here in 1963. The Yardbirds were regulars too. The Station Hotel is now called Edwards and is directly opposite Richmond Station. By April 1963, the Stones had two gigs a week at the Crawdaddy and a weekly slot on Eel Pie Island. During this time, they achieved their first chart hit, Come On. After the Stones departed on tour, another leading R & B group from Kingston, the Yardbirds, took over the Crawdaddy residency from 1963-66, and various line ups included Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. The Crawdaddy club welcomed many of America's finest Blues musicians and helped kick start British rock.
