I ultimately spent over $9,000 for very limited progress on my case. My initial conversation with Oscar was positive and professional, which gave me confidence in hiring the firm. However, after retaining them, communication quickly became confusing as multiple people were emailing me about the case, making it difficult to understand who was actually responsible. From the beginning I repeatedly explained that I could not afford extensive litigation and wanted the scope of work to remain limited. Despite this, the billing escalated quickly and included charges from several staff members for tasks like reviewing documents, organizing files, and internal communications. In the end, the primary work completed was filing a notice of appearance, a motion for extension of time, and an answer with affirmative defenses. After those defenses were filed, the plaintiff submitted a motion to strike them. I was never notified by the firm about this filing and only discovered it myself after checking the federal court docket. By that time the response deadline was already approaching. Because the legal costs had already become too high, I had no choice but to ask the firm to withdraw and continue the case on my own. After spending more than $9,000, I ultimately found myself defending the case pro se anyway. In hindsight, I wish I had remained pro se from the start and avoided the significant financial burden.

I normally don't post reviews, but after my experience with Xander Law Group I believe other…read morebusiness owners should understand what working with Xander Law Group can look like. My company purchased a used vacuum truck from a Miami dealer called National Truck Center, which sells refurbished trucks that originally came from fleets like Ryder and Penske. The truck was marketed as a ready-to-work vacuum truck. Within three days of owning it, the engine completely failed and required a full rebuild. The truck then sat for roughly six months while the engine was rebuilt. After trying to resolve the issue directly with National Truck Center, I contacted Xander Law Group to discuss whether I had a case. I was told the case was strong and that pursuing legal action made sense. Based on that advice, I retained the firm. What followed over the next two years was extremely frustrating. During that time I paid roughly $40,000 in legal fees while the case slowly moved along. Communication was inconsistent. Many times the only time I heard from Xander Law Group was when an invoice was due. After paying an invoice, we would suddenly schedule depositions or meetings where the same documentation would be requested again. I was asked for the same documents multiple times throughout the case despite having already provided them. At one point an invoice increased from roughly $2,200 to nearly $10,000 in a matter of days following a brief Zoom meeting. As the case progressed, the cost projections escalated dramatically. Eventually Xander Law Group informed me that moving forward with trial would require a trial retainer of approximately $70,000-$80,000 for what was described as a one-to-three-day trial. By that point I had already spent tens of thousands of dollars over nearly two years on a lawsuit involving a truck that originally cost around $150,000. To make matters worse, after additional mechanical inspections it became clear that the truck itself had deeper issues. The chassis, weight ratings, and configuration appeared mismatched for the size of the vacuum tank that had been installed. The truck suffered another major engine failure again in July and is currently being rebuilt for a second time after the underlying issue was finally diagnosed. In the end, after two years of litigation and substantial legal fees, the case resulted in a judgment for legal fees which I ultimately paid simply to close the matter and move on with running my business. Litigation is always risky and every case is different. But based on my experience with Xander Law Group, the process became extremely expensive, communication was inconsistent, and the outcome was the complete opposite of what I expected when I first retained the firm. Anyone considering hiring Xander Law Group should make sure they fully understand how quickly litigation costs can escalate and what the financial commitment may ultimately look like.

I hired Xander Law to pursue the case and was told several times that the dealer would likely settle and that trial was unlikely. Over the next two years, almost everything I was told would happen turned out to be the opposite. The case dragged on, the same documents were requested multiple times, and legal fees kept increasing. At one point I was presented with a proposal for trial that required $70,000 up front for what was described as a 1-3 day trial. Considering the truck itself cost around $150,000, the potential legal fees would have been nearly the same as the asset we were fighting over. After two years of frustration, I decided I was done continuing down that path. Shortly after, I received a bill that jumped to $8,200, including roughly $6,000 for a short Zoom call. When I disputed the charges and declined to pay the amount I felt was unreasonable, the firm pursued a judgment for their legal fees. The amount ultimately increased to around $20,000, and because the judgment was filed against both me and my company, I eventually had to pay it to resolve the matter. My biggest issue with this experience wasn't just the cost -- it was the gap between what was initially communicated and what actually happened over the course of the case. If you're a business owner considering hiring legal counsel, my advice is to ask very detailed questions about billing, trial costs, and strategy before committing, and get everything in writing. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this firm.
