A pleasant - though often very windy - place to take a walk! Not the most attractive of esplanades - it could do with some nicely painted railings like the ones in Largs, Gourock or Greenock. There are views across the Clyde towards the island of Arran.
In warm sunny weather you'll often find families playing and picnicking on the lovely broad sandy beach. There's a putting green, children's play area and toilets and it's not far to the town's shops, cafes and restaurants. It's also a popular beach for windsurfing and a bit of fishing. The Sailing Club is found where the Esplanade meets Grangemuir Road.
You'll find a free car park at the north end beside the golf course, and a second further down the Esplanade, but there are usually plenty of places where you can park all along the seafront.
