Those two dishes with a yogurt drink and a water came to 900£ ($37USD)! The lamb kebab came with two small skewers (fatty lamb) with fries loosely sprinkled on top. We didn't read the reviews before going. It was Saturday night and crowded with young locals so we figured it had to be reasonably priced and good. When it came time to pay they wouldn't accept our credit card and had us pay them in cash (another red flag) despite having a credit card machine. The person before us used their credit card. After receiving the bill, being stunned with the amount and having to pay in cash, we left feeling like we were ripped off. We have been traveling in Turkey for weeks and this was the only time we have been asked to pay cash and the only time we've paid this much money for the same food we've ordered from other places in Turkey. It wasn't a good feeling and the food wasn't worth what they charged us. There is no way the locals are paying these prices there. It doesn't make sense. ASK THE PRICES BEFORE ORDERING.

The eggplant had a good smokey flavor. The cheese stuffed peppers which were medium spicy (green items in center of picture) were our favorite of the items. We ordered the Çökertme Kebab based on the waiter's recommendation that it was a regional specialty (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/balkan-restaurant-mu%C4%9Fla?select=btbMA9T-I7n53i0e3AZgdw#TvPdS1rIL7OqvSnHDrOo7A). The beef was cooked with a tomato sauce and there were French fries and tomato wedges on top along with matchstick potatoes and yogurt sauce underneath(http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/balkan-restaurant-mu%C4%9Fla?select=btbMA9T-I7n53i0e3AZgdw#AJJBH84jEcWqXZphONjatQ). Tasty yogurt. Mostly tender meat with a few tough pieces. Good flavor overall; I would order this again. Service was lacking with a long wait before they took our order and difficult times trying to get water refills and the check. 3.5 stars for the food. Rounding down for the service.

Le Roka's best order is the doner, slithers of real beef and not that processed 'dog meat' minced doner we get in so many places in the UK. Also the lahmacun (pronounced la majoon) in english) is excellent, its a flat thin crust type of pizza with grund lamb and onions on it. Because of its location at the begining of bar street and on the sea its a also a nice place to start your night if you are heading for the Halikarnos (an open air club) probably the most famous on the Aegean coastal region of Turkey. Le Roka does lovely full size Turkish Pides (pizza) also and steaks and mezes also. It opens 24 hrs in season and many locals go there for late nite/early morning soup.
