Coming from California, it is an eye opening experience to shop in Spain's grocery stores, especially Herbolario Navarro. The amount of ingredients and stabilizers are so minimal compared to American products. I would equate this store to Whole Foods for American shoppers.

The on-site restaurant is a bit expensive considering the number of restaurants just outside of the door, and I wasn't impressed with the menu. On the other hand, having a quick snack and then going shopping has always appealed to me. The store variety is astounding, and there are lots of products here you can't find in other stores in the chain throughout the city. The variety alone means that I can make one trip here and get exactly what I need, even if it is for a slightly higher price.

Punt de Sabor had a juice bar where for 2 euro you could get a small juice with anything you wanted in it. I loaded up on all sorts of vegetables as well as fruit and walked away very satisifed. Returned the next day to do it again. The guy working spoke great English, too. If I ever moved to Valencia I would find an apartment on this block so I could go here everyday!
